Went to Paia Fish Market in Paia on Tuesday and was blown away with the culinary quality and quantity food. Had to have more so went to the one on SouthSide the next day. Staff was great but the food did not compare. Sautéed snapper in Paia was covered in savory sauce and garlic. The one on South Side did not have any sauce at all, very little garlic, and bordered on dry. The picture below was from Paia and not what i got on South Side. Go to Paia for Paia :) also the seafood pasta in Paia was one of the best meals I have ever had!
So good! I had my snapper blackened. The tartar sauce is awesome and has a great dill flavor. The Cole slaw is nice and chunky with a great sauce, one of the best I have had. Staff was very friendly and service was quick.
As we were looking for dinner options, we stumbled upon this place. They have several different choices of fresh fish. We decided to try red snapper, which was our first try. The food was really tasty! They make their own slaw and tartar sauce.
Really great fish - prepared well. I had the blackened snapper with rice and potatoes. Also came with slaw - all really tasty. Chicken Alfredo was good according to the person who ordered it. Burger was also good for one in our party. Did not try the fish and chips. Would try the calamari next time - heard that they prepare it fresh and cook it. Busy line but they turn over tables fast. Went on Father’s Day and had about a 20 min wait and then a 10 min wait for food at 6 PM - overall impressed.
They have several locations - we hit the one in Kihei. Simple menu to choose from and everything is super fresh. Easy going spot with reggae playing on the speakers...what more can you ask for! This is a must stop when visiting Maui. They say the lines get long at dinner time, we went for late lunch and walked right in. Be sure to check out the outdoor market for gifts shops right next door - lots to choose from.
Definitely a must for fish lovers! Everything is so fresh. I had the blackened mahi mahi salad & it was seasoned perfectly. The papaya dressing was amazing! Don’t forget the cole slaw…not shredded but chopped & crispy. Great selection of beer & wine. My favorite meal so far in Maui! Also, the staff is soooo friendly!
I liked the options that this place provided. The rice was much better than the potatoes and the onion rings were THE BEST. The fish was slightly overcooked but good.
Their mahi mahi burger was soo good! So much better than the pink snapper burger, which was a little fishy. It was so good and convenient that we ate the burger again at their Paia location before starting the Road to Hana. Logistics on To-Go Orders Calling ahead will save you boatloads of time. My husband waited 45 mins in line to place an order and then another 10 mins for the food. My friend called in her order and picked up it as soon as she got there.
We visited twice on our trip to Maui and had delicious food both times. The fish tastes so fresh and portions are very generous. If you like seafood I would definitely recommend coming here!
A nice surprise - delicious! We had no intention of going here but family wanted to try it after seeing long lines. Wow what a delicious meal. The blackened fish and Cajun chicken was so good. Fish tacos were some of the best we’ve had. Fresh fish makes all the difference. We will be back.
