Food was great! See is was good, but I put a note in my open table reservation that it was out 30th wedding anniversary AND retirement dinner and they didnât acknowledge. I asked for a nice view sort and that didnât happen either. I guess putting notes into OpenTable for the restaurant to read doest so any good. But the food was good.
Great food and great service! ð¥°
We can hardly wait to go back! The food was amazing! Our server Spencer was very good. He explained the menu and we basically ordered what he recommended. Delicious dinner, thank you.
Mori-No-to- Here's the thing, I have looked up to Morimoto for over 20 years and finally got the chance to eat at one of his restaurants. It was highly disappointing and I have no clue why he would have his name on this place. So lets start with the menu. It's extremely limited. They only serve a hand full of items. My menu was misprinted having the entrée on the 1st and last page but no drink menu. Now on to the food. The miso soup tasted like it was just miso paste and water scallions and they had a fresh tofu. 1/2 the menu is stolen from nobu and sub par. The real loser is the sushi and lets be honest your expectation is for the best. I have honestly had better sushi out of a strip mall in west texas. The fish was fresh and served room temperature. The uni was a large portion but I fear part of it was bad (time will tell) as it had a off flavor. The real problem is in the prep. The rice did not have Miriam in it and they use fake Wasabi. At $16 for a single piece of sushi you should be delivered the highest quality. Our waiter made note they haven't had a real chef in a while and that's why the menu had limited options and no omakasi. The best thing on the menu was the mushrooms and lets be real. They are just a mushroom mix wok seared... Nothing exotic, flavors just slightly above grocerie store grade. + points for yuzu on carpat, fresh tofu, and decent toro selection - points.. horseradish wasabi, generic miso soup. copy cat nobu entrees and apps.(If I wanted nobu I would go to nobo..the name sake is an iron chef) No miriam on rice, menu's are printed wrong. No custom rolls, no sushi soy glaze on nigari. Restaurant is open air and hot and muggy. Their kitchen is tiny too.
Had reservation at 7:45pm but had to wait 30min to get seated. I think it was because I was a woman with 2 boys. Other parties, who came at 7:45, were seated promptly. This place discriminates against women who come without a man. Food was very good, but once again, we were the last to be served. We finally got our sushi entree when they said the kitchen was closing. They apologized saying theyâll give us free dessert. When I asked to see the dessert menu, they said all they had was ice cream. We were disappointed. Then they brought out one order of ice cream and 3 spoons. They expected us to share. Was that the complimentary treat? For discrimination and bad/slow service? I asked for 2 more. The waitress was annoyed that I dare ask for more and dropped the other 2 ice cream plates with a loud thump on the table. The boys noticed her rudeness. She would never have dropped the plate with anger, if I were a man. If you want good service, do not go here. Or go at 5:30pm. And make sure you go with a man. The problem is they only have 2 sushi chefs and theyâre not able to turn out food fast enough. So theyâll look at you and your party and decide who to serve last. It is unfortunate, but Asian women think they can treat other Asian women poorly and thatâs perfectly fine. The ladies at the front and our waitress were all Asian women, so I got the worst service possible. Our bill was $300. Iâm happy to pay for good food. But our dinner experience was very bad. The food was good, but we did not feel good eating there. You shouldnât be paying $300 for poor service and a bad dining experience. We came here for a nice dinner. We left disappointed and unhappy. We donât need to get free ice cream. We just need better service. Teach your Asian ladies to treat other Asian women with equal respect as everyone else. And maybe hire another sushi chef. Or go to Spago at Four Seasons instead. They have exceptional service, fantastic food and spectacular views.
We wait 50 min almost 1 hr to bring our food horrible
Ridiculously long wait.(ovee an hour). The waiter kept apologizing but did not offer an appetizer or cocktail..which would have helped the situation as we were starving by that point. The sushi was nothing special and the chefs choice of 10 pieces for $50 included egg cake and shrimp (not even real sushi). Avoid this place you can do so so much better.
Great vibe, food, and drinks, and made even better by the sunset view. Definitely worth the wait for an outdoor table.
Table view was sideways to ocean and the wind made the table position even more of a challenge which the staff essentially ignored after awhile. My dinner was great yet my husbands was not. Have had far better Japanese dinners in many other cities. Would not plan to return.
Food and atmosphere was great. Decor is really nice. The restaurant is located close to the pool so it can be a little noisy. There was a luau going on down on the lawn so that was a plus to see. The sushi was top notch. Recommend for sure!
