Poor service, excellent food. We had a party of 7 (all family). At the end of the meal we were told by our waiter “I can’t spilt your checks because it’s to busy.” This is upsetting because it ended up being harder for us to split the check amongst ourselves. Also, you should never be to busy to serve paying costumers.
Impressive presentation. We LOVED the creative names of the rolls here. But of course, the best was how everything tasted. Best rainbow rolls, Alaskan rolls, and their cooked rolls are amazing, too. There’s usually a bit of a wait for a larger party, but it’s definitely worth the wait. Try the various rolls with a bottle of sake!
This is the best sushi ever. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious! If you want to eat in the restaurant is not that big but they do a great job.
We had great food and service at Miso Phat Sushi. I got the TNT roll, and my family got the 69 roll and the TNA roll. We all loved our sushi. The service was above and beyond expectations. I went to get takeout a few nights later and tried the Miso Phat roll and they exceeded all expectations again. I can't wait to get back to Maui and get their sushi!
This place was solid but nothing mind-blowing. I should add that I live in the Los Angeles area, so therefore I have access to multiple fantastic sushi destirants. I was just expecting better based on the reviews. If getting great sushi isn't easy where you live, then definitely worth the trip.
Very fresh fish and beautiful rolls. Elias was kind, attentive, and gave suggestions that we loved. The atmosphere was bright, offering bar seating and booths with high walls for great privacy/noise reduction.TNT and Alaskan rolls are pictured.
Worth. The. Wait.Small space so there’s a bit of a wait right when they open if you’re not there right away. Super friendly upbeat staff. California rolls, Dynamite roll, TNT Roll, 007 roll and a caterpillar roll (not pictured) fed 6 of us. TNT & caterpillar roll we’re the best two of the bunch. The tuna was fresh and buttery as was the Avacado on the caterpillar roll.
Very surprised at such high ratings. Found the place in Kihei a bit lacking in every way. Our matradee was very pleasant and sat us at a small table prepared for use. Ordered the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and 2 orders of the mussels. The rolls very small, tasteless, and no use of actual sushi rice. Presentation was poor and found that the cut was done wrong, meaning the sushi chef needs to learn to properly cut the fish for proper tenderness. The mussels were over cooked, minimal taste, and failed to meet relative standards of a good baked mussel. However, it was a good presentation. Very expensive at $5.00 per mussel. Not worth it. Ordered saki with our meal that never came until the point we were leaving. Most employee were too busy reminiscing about there activities prior to there shift to even realize they missed it. One was very open about how high he was while he was working. Really showed through his forgetfulness and lack of any professionalism. However, nobody seemed to care. Again, expected a 4.7 star restaurant to be so much more, certainly wasn't and would not recommend making the time or effort; unless you want substandard sushi and high prices. Incidentally the facility clearly boasts about being a Guy Fierre visited facility. Well Guy, I would rethink your visited and ratings, bad for your reputation.
We tried to eat at Miso Phat Sushi twice but due to a long line we were only able to eat at the restaurant once. We opted for takeout and decided to eat our sushi on the beach. The menu is great and hilarious. All the rolls have a secondary name of Miso ______. For example I ordered a Miso Pretty roll which was a rainbow roll. The staff was terrific and it was obvious the restaurant was very popular by the line out front waiting to eat there. Our waiter recommended we go shopping while we wait because he knew we were going to eat on the beach. The sushi was outstanding and very fresh. We were given plenty of soy sauce, chop sticks, plates and supplies to eat on the beach. All the rolls were delicious and of good portion size. Would definitely eat at Miso Phat Sushi again.
We wanted yummy sushi. We didn’t have reservations and we waited quite a bit but it was well worth the wait. They had our favorite beer: echigo. I haven’t had it in forever as we don’t have it in Costa Rica. The tako salmon and yellowtail were fantastic. The best was the toro sashimi. Our waiter was very chatty and bubbly which I love ! He was wonderful and kept our sake hot. He was amazing.
