If you are looking for good coffee in Maui this is where you go. I visited a few other shops here and nothing compared. The staff was great and very knowledgeable about their products. Lane was working when I was there and he was a great host. The bakery items were much better then you would expect from anywhere then a dedicated bakery. Only consideration is not a lot of seating if you are planning to come and work remotely but plenty of seating in the surrounding plaza.
The coffee here is some of the best we’ve had! Get the local drip coffee!! The staff is super friendly and helpful. 11/10!!
The Latte was good, the Americano not so great. If you want to hang out, this is not the place, it’s more a man-cave for three than a seating area.

I can not express enough my ALOHA for this coffee shop. Even though the frozen machine was broken this visit. We made it work. The staff is friendly and I always enjoy my conversations with them. Mahalo lava java for the best coffee in maui! Until next time.
Great atmosphere and coffee, indoor and outdoor seating, staff is funny and friendly, you can buy coffee made or buy a bag for home, right by the beach and many food options.
Lava Java was a staple in our morning routine. The name did not disappoint! I like my coffee piping hot and it was just that. I could have used a second cup for insulation as the cardboard sleeve didn’t do a very good job. I regrettably complained that I couldn’t find a good cup of blonde roast coffee to the barista. I shortly realized I wouldn’t find a better cup of coffee anywhere! Unless a croissant is enough don’t expect to find breakfast here. Coffee is the name of the game and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
This is local bfast coffee heaven. I loved walking in and ordering their freshly roasted coffee. It was so full of flavor. I also purchased bfast pastries and two bagels. They were warm and homemade. I recommend this to all who need a quick jolt and fast bfast! ❤️❤️❤️
Barista sucks! Totally flat cappuccino made with Columbia’s beans. Too hot to drink. Ridiculously bad!!! Wtf!?
