Below average food for below average prices.I got the pork tacos and fish quesadilla (I wanted the shrimp quesadilla but he said he was out, but 10 mins later when I was picking up my order another person ordered the shrimp quesadilla and then the guy remembered he had more ).The pork was actually quite tasty and was seasoned with a lot of black pepper. The tacos were soggy, and I couldn't actually pick them up without breaking the tortilla so I just ate them with a fork (ate them within like 5 mins of ordering so I don't know how they got so soggy). The other ingredients in the tacos didn't really stand out to me (lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese). The mahi fish in the quesadilla was good and fresh, but the quesadilla filling was like 10% fish and 90% melted American cheese, so I didn't like it haha. There were no other ingredients in the fish quesadilla. It was literally just american sliced cheese and a little bit of fish squished between a tortilla.Prices are cheaper than a lot of places on the island but for good reason it seems. Okay as beach food if you're hungry but I would personally try to time my lunch next time to eat somewhere in Kihei or just at home instead.
Chicken nachos, tacos fish salad, tacos shredded pork. We had to try a local food truck. We picked our meal and drove 5 minutes to eat it on the beach. Fresh food, good portion, great service;
The fish tacos were good and the pork tacos were even better, but their shaved ice was actually a snow cone.
Tacos were decent if they were half the price. For what they costed they are NoT* worth it. Fish was pretty dry and nachos weren’t anything special.
This food truck is in serious need of a refresh. If you notice, a good amount of the 5 star reviews are from years ago and the food in the photos look so good. Overall I would suggest going else where. But read on for further details.I got a fish taco and shaved ice. Starting with the taco, the shells weren’t even cooked, just straight out of the bag. The sauce was so watery it pooled up the entire plate, and the flavor was missing in it completely. The fish was over cooked and bland, and the ratio of it all was just so off.The shaved ice was just a hunk of ice when we got it. We had to chisel away at it to get bits of ice in the flavor to spoon up.Whoever runs this place just needs to take some time and correct some of these easy fixes. Better executed sauce and fish would be HUGE. Fixing the small things like the shells and ratios would round it off well. A lot of the misses here are examples of a poorly managed truck that’s lost it’s polish.
On top of the guy who was the cashier, cook, server who was also rude and just had an overall bad attitude, the food was horrible. It was supposed to be a mahi taco but it tasted like canned tuna. The tortilla was burnt to a crisp. For 7$ a taco I would expect something edible. Im sorry that this food truck is even on google maps. We all seriously wanted to stand out front and warn others to not waste their money. I never write about my experience but we all felt we had to this time. Eat ANYWHERE else but Jaws.
Absolute tourist trap. The tacos are complete garbage. Everything is dry and awful. I waited an hour for 3 orders in front of me to get their food and I’m not even judging the place based on that. Don’t waste your money here even if you’re starving.
Tacos are great but messy to eat. Lot of cabbage to fish ratio. Portions are huge tho so two tacos is really filling
The good news is it’s conveniently located in the Big Beach parking lot. The bad news is this is the worst food I’ve eaten on the island. Who puts rice on fish tacos?
Fish tacos were pretty good, but your truck almost blocks the beach access- move it down another 10 feet please.
