We were looking for a place for dinner, and based on the reviews, we wanted to try this restaurant out. We did get reservations, and were promptly brought to our table. Water was provided promptly, and then it was decision time - we went for drinks first - their Pama Punch and a Mai Tai. For dinner, my wife had their Fish Special which she really enjoyed, and I had their Prime Rib which was pretty good. For desert, we had their Pine'Ple Cake and Brownie Sundae. Service was good. Parking was in the hotel lot, and we didn't have to drive down the street to find parking. Service was polite and punctual. Dinner hit the spot!
We live local and we love coming here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The live music that’s offered is great and the food is good. This time we just shared a bottle of wine and listened to some great tunes. We will be back.
Absolutely first-class. This was our local bar during our honeymoon visit so we popped in for a drink, service was brilliant, had a nice wee chat about Scotland with our waitress Emma, food was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. We'll be back for more of those cocktails!
This was one of our favorite restaurants and we were really looking forward to eating there. That being said, the meal started out strong with delicious coconut shrimp and calamari. But after that it went downhill pretty quickly. We had two blackened Mahi Mahi and two fish specials. The Mahi itself was delicious, but it was served on a bed of plain white rice and bok choy without any seasoning. The fish special was very disappointing. It couldn’t make up its mind if it wanted to be curry, butter, coconut, or what. Same prep as the Mahi so the sides were not great. One persons special was so tough he couldn’t cut the fish at all. A little seasoning could elevate these dishes to the next level. Service was great and everyone in the restaurant was so nice.
Oh my goodness. From the moment we walked in with the greeting at the door from the hostess to the waitress and then the manager Christine graces us with her beautiful presence. Totally amazing sweet atmosphere. The food oh my, the food was totally amazing from the presentation to the taste. The dessert was off the hook.If you haven't been here. Please go check them out. They are in the Maui Coast Hotel. Go with an empty stomach because you'll surely be filled by the time you leave. We are returning for breakfast..... Check out these pictures. Thank you 'Ami 'Ami... You guys rock
My wife and I went here for dinner last night. The staff was friendly. Genevieve was our waitress and she was AWESOME. She was extremely personal, like talking to a friend. On her recommendations, I had the blackened Mai Mai tacos and my wife had the kalua pork tacos.. They were very good. We also fried banana cheesecake. The desert was so awesome and good looking I forgot to take a picture! Sorry about that. Try the Maui Wowie too!
Where do I begin. My family and I were quite excited to go out and try a new restaurant that looked like it had a good menu and outdoor seating. Our first red flag was when we noticed the table itself was filthy and hadn’t been wiped down leaving dirt on our napkins and fingers. The second issue was the dirty cutlery that came wrapped in a napkin. The server was friendly and did get us new cutlery but it left us feeling a bit uneasy. Next, we were handed two different salad dishes with “grilled” chicken that we paid extra for. I uploaded pictures, it was a white mass of meat that we couldn’t bring ourselves to eat as it was so unappetizing and bland. My quinoa salad was tasteless, and soggy and I was surprised to find a large portabello mushroom patty that tasted terrible. Ahhhhh, and the final cherry on top was when my father discovered a long, curly black hair emerging from his chicken that we had to send back. The servers were all very polite and brought him a new dish but the damage was done. We also noticed the dish was still on our bill despite being told by the manager that the dish would be comped, including the offer of a complimentary dessert. We opted out of this choice and had to request that the “hairy” chicken dish be removed from the bill. Not to mention I had finished my well-deserved glass of wine and was asked if I wanted to order another; I said absolutely. However, the server took so long to come back with the drink menu that I eventually gave up and wanted to go home. So, sadly I can not recommend eating at this restaurant and we won’t be back.
Our family of 7 had dinner here to celebrate a year of milestones. Tonight was the best dining experience we have ever had! Christine went above and beyond to make this night special! She even had hand made Lei's for my parents who were celebrating their 50th anniversary and my daughter who was celebrating her 18th. The servers were so friendly and the food was amazing! We will always remember this night as it made our vacation perfect! Thank you to Christine and all the staff at Ami Ami!!!!
We stopped at Ami Ami without reservations this evening after seeing that they seemed to have tables available but when we walked in the hostess told us that we would have to wait at least 30 min. However, when we asked she did say we could eat at the bar. Not our first choice but beggars can't be choosers. About 10 min , later another group of 2 arrived and asked the hsotess about one of the empty tables we had noticed from the street and when it appeared that the manager (Ashley) was going to seated them there we piped up and Ashley graciously agreed to seat us there. Things were looking up!! However from that point on until after we had finished our meals the only service staff that approached us were the bus boy filling our water glasses and the one who dropped off our meals. At one point I tried to get one of the servers attention but after giving me the "1 minute hand gesture" she went on to ignore us for the rest of the evening. I was actually debating walking towards the exit after we were done just to see if we truly were invisible to the entire service staff but eventually the woman behind the bar who had initially taken our order did come over and ask if we wanted anything else (too late for the 2nd drink I had planned to have with my main course...). Ashley did eventually come back to bring us our bill and when I told her what had happened she was very apologetic and did comp us our appie but at that point the damage had been done. The overall experience was a major disappointment despite the great table and the yummy meals we had. I am not sure if there is a morale here but being in the customer service business myself the #1 RULE I always tell my early in career mentees is DON'T EVER IGNORE THE CUSTOMER!!!! Thanks for trying to compensate for our disappointing experience Ashley - hopefully you and your team will read and learn from this review.
Christine and her staff went above and beyond to make our celebration dinner memorable. She even had her daughter make Lei's for my parents who were celebrating their 50th anniversary and my daughter who was having her 18th. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was perfect. Thank you again Ami Ami for helping us make great memories!
