This is a quaint little sushi spot run by a Japanese couple who (I was told by our hotel bartender) used to work with Morimoto. There are only a few tables and you can call ahead to reserve a spot. The sushi was beautiful and delicious. If you like finding small unassuming local spots that feel more like visiting someone's home than a full on restaurant, then don't pass this up.
Absolutely some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. The sushi was extremely fresh and the presentation was outstanding. We will definitely be coming back.
WOW! Melt in your mouth yellowtail tuna. Quiet, unassuming, perfect spot for a low key sushi night. The sushi was clean, fresh and well portioned. I’d give more starts if I could.
I am happy to report that 1054 Togoshi survived the pandemic and got tremendously better. Previously, I had reported that 1054 Togoshi was the new best sushi restaurant in Kihei. Now, it is the undisputed best sushi restaurant in Kihei. The chef picks excellent fish that is equivalent in quality to many Los Angeles sushi bars and even some from Tokyo. This is excellent quality for those of you who are in the know about sushi. If you don't have a discerning taste, then go to Foodland. If you want something special - and I went there 4 times during a 10 day trip, then you will not be disappointed.

Went for a vacation in Maui, Hawaii and our friends took us here 'cause we are really craving for a very delicious, quality kind of UNI.. and OH MY GOD! 1054 TOGOSHI is a TOP QUALITY sushi restaurant!!! Would recommend it alot and definitely will visit again and again if we're able to go back to Hawaii. Ambiance is really great, and not too many guests are dinning in.. I love it so much! Definitely 5stars.
1054 Togoshi is a small, family owned and operated sushi restaurant. The owners (2 people) do everything from the restaurant interior design to all prep work, cooking, preparing, serving, cleaning…you name it. They must work 14 hour days! Yet they have created a warm and disarmingly unpretentious setting for excellent meals. Go check it out and enjoy!
Great, amazing place. Great location, hidden gem, was able to get in as soon as we arrived no reservation. Sushi, and sake we're amazing.
the food was great. the salmon and yellowtail had great flavors. the recommended sweet sake in a glass was delicious.
Togoshi has the best and freshest sushi on Maui! A great mom and pop restaurant with unbeatable service.
