I waited in line for more than 15 mins today AFTER the lunch rush and watched sadly as 3 employees prepared 3 plates for 1 customer. I went to the cashier to pay and read the posted sign stating how many mustards you get with an order. I ordered 12 Baked Manapuas and 6 Kaugee I received 1 mustard? Really? When asked why only one...the RUDE server that packed my order stated the quantity shown on the flyer does not include Manapuas. What? It's 52 cents for each additional mustard. Would you like another mustard? No Thank You!! When We Know Better We Do Better..
I went there today to buy some bake manapua with my children. I stood where I usually purchased manapua in the past. Two workers were sitting down and instead of serving me they told me to stand in line. I saw a total of four workers only one working. Got discussed and said don't want manapua no moreWent next door to Hula boba great service. Don't think that I'll be going be going back to chun wah kamAnt time soon.
This restaurant was amazing when i first tried it in 2017 and it is still good today. I love it and everyone should try this factory out!
Our favorite place for a quick local plate lunch and mManapua. CWK has a great selection of Manapua's and Pork Hash.
Quality of dim sum seems to be declining since pandemic started. Hot table offerings are getting more plentiful though. Neat to see the Easter colored bao.
Glad mobile ordering is finally possible! Makes things so much easier than waiting in line, which is always long BTW. Just can't wait for them deliver now.
In my opinion Chun Wah Kam is a great place for Hawaii style dim sum and wide variety of ready to eat food. When I'm on Oahu I always visit this place for Manapua and Pork Hash. Charsu
Don't bet on getting an order taken right away unless you put in a phone or online order. I haven't been to Chun Wah Kam's in years but an early appointment found me standing in line (I didn't know about the order requirements earlier) for manapuas. It was a Saturday, why not? Ordered the staples of shoyu chicken and curry chicken manapuas plus the steamed hot dog versions. 10 minutes already passed. Stood in another line for payment while our helper was getting our boxes ready. Another 6-8 minutes passed. Finally got to the front only for the cashier with a bad attitude to be a customer service worker to tell me they had to ring up another order. All this while never making eye contact, or showing maybe using a bit of a sorry tone for making me wait while ringing up someone else that hadn't even gotten to the line yet? What just happened? Maybe its the complacency and "too comfortable laid back island" attitude but this seems to be the norm for this team. There's a reason why I haven't been here in a while. Not recommended. Try to get your orders from other locations with better customer service or better yet, other local spots that carry better versions of these local treats. Thank goodness the baked hot dog manapua tasted somewhat ono, hence the lone star. And decimals for somewhat cheesy Xmas spirit in their green and gold tinted steamed buns lol. It would've been none based on today's experience.
Steamed char siu manapua was delicious. Bitter melon fresh and fish was Ono. Prices went up but so did everything else during this time right? Food is worth it for sure.
