We had a mini plate of Laulau beef, chicken long rice and sweet lady. Loved them all. Also tried a side of Lomi Salmon. Definitely a winner.
We stopped here for lunch during a tour of the island. We had asked our guide about authentic food, so he brought us to Waiahole Poi Factory. We ordered the No. 1, which combines Laulau and Kalua Pig. It was delicious and provided enough for my wife and me to share it. We got a small container of poi, of course, and while poi will never be my favorite food, it was good. Our guide showed us how to eat it with the other food, so maybe knowing how to eat it is important. We also added the chili pepper water to give the food a little more spice, and to add some moisture to the pork, which was fairly dry. Reasonably priced at under $20.
Went back as a must visit stop on a recent trip to that side of the island. First time since the pandemic. I'd say that the quality is still excellent. However, I'd say that the laulau is about half the size of what it used to be, portions of just about everything have shrunken. Disappointing, but I suppose it's to be expected. The poi is fresh, almost sweet. That's unusual. A suggestion if you get the Sweet Lady of Waiahole dessert. Go straight for the kulolo on the bottom. If you wait until you get back to your car, it will probably be frozen from the ice cream. The photos of the portions for WPF are no longer current.
We stopped here for lunch on a Monday after finishing a morning tour of the Kanahoe Sandbar (would highly recommend). There is a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant and it's all take out right now. The line was quite short and moved quickly. We got a Kalua Pig & Squid Lu’au combo plate with poi and Squid Lu'ua mini plate with poi. Both items were the best of their kind!!! We also got the Sweet Lady of Waiahole for dessert which is haupia ice cream and warm kulolo and it was excellent (you can order this from a separate window after you finish the savory foods). This is a great stop for some classic Hawaiian food!!
10 out of 10 would recommend recommend. Great fresh local food. Decently priced. There isn't anywhere to sit but the food is so good you'll see people sitting on their trunks and a little stone wall a few feet from the parking lot to eat. Service was fast, great and so friendly. Bathroom was clean. If anything you have to at least try the coconut creamy ice cream. It was unlike anything I'd ever had before and not your typical coconut flavor. So creamy and rich. Definitely a must. Wish I had some now.
Excellent Hawaiian food! The Laulau and the Kailua pork, omg, everything was declined. Hot and fresh. The ice cream was so good too!
Very little parking, so be prepared to wait for a spot or park up the street. We ordered the Laulau Kalua Pork combo plate which has the most delicious pork I’ve ever had in my entire life, alongside white rice and a chicken noodle rice. We took the food to go and ate it on the beach. Highly recommend eating it on the beach or just makes everything taste better.We also ordered the Sweet Lady which was recommended by EVERYONE on here, and it was such an amazing tasting dessert. Sweet, savory, chewy, soft. I’ve never had anything like it before.My only complaint is the woman helping us at the window seemed to be OVER IT and wasn’t nice when we took a second to decide which side we wanted. But I’ll overlook that because the pork literally changed my life.
Delicious ice cream! Great place to grab food for lunch. No where to sit on the premises so head to a nearby beach after grabbing some pork. Ice cream is very tasty too.
