We ordered 2 mixed plates and split them between 2 adults and 2 kids. We paid about $35.Shrimp & Steak, and Chicken & Pork. Starting with the Shrimp, it was hard to peel, and slightly over done. I will pass on their shrimp next time. The rest of our meal was top 10 of our favorites here on Oahu. The pork was sweet and succulent. The steak had a teriyaki flavor and was absolute perfection. The chicken had a hickory smoked vibe, leaving the whole family wanting more. Macaroni salad, regular salad and rice all standard fare and enjoyable.
I do love to come here on my many visits to Hawaii. The area has changed a bit and I do miss watchin him grill the chicken outside. Many other times Ive eaten here have been nuch better. This time the food dint seem as fresh as others. However I still highly recommend for your visit.
Great staff, reasonable price, tasty chicken. I wished I had more chicken in the order. Great area to eat. Satisfying.
Definitely good, but not as good as the reviews led us to believe. Also, they were rationing chicken because they were running out. So we ordered the chicken / char. Everything was good! The pork reminded me of Chinese BBQ pork.
We went to Mike's and ordered a #7 (Steak and shrimp) and Kalua pig. The steak was almost all fat and gristle, was very tough and rubbery. Almost could not cut it with a knife. The Kalua pig was awful, tasted like wet mushy canned meat. Almost dog food like. We threw out 90% of our order. Within 15 minutes we felt sick to our stomachs, and felt nauseous. Now, hours later, we still don't feel well. At least the servers were friendly and the drinks tasted okay.
Good food but the place is a little dirty. Too many bird poop on the seats and also lots of flies. The sauce bottles were so sticky
Best chicken I have had on this island. Wife and kid also loved the mac salad. This place is a must visit. Only bad thing is (nothing against the food or staff)when we sat down and opened our food we got attacked by flies and bees so had to eat in the car. Other then that the food and staff were amazing.
I would not recommend. I went here because it was recommended online however their great years may be behind them. You no longer see anyone cooking the chicken outside. It's either done in a convection oven now or cooked earlier in the day and just reheated, the quality is not good. I've had Huli chicken before and it should be crispy in the outside and juicy in the inside def not dry seasones chicken. I gave it 2 stars because the staff were friendly.
We stopped here with another couple. I had the chicken plate and my wife had the teriyaki steak and shrimp combo. Both were delicious. The prices were about $15 a plate which was reasonable. There are also a bunch of other places for desert as well.
I ordered the smoked meat plate, and 2/3 of it was fat!! In fact, there were a couple of pieces of pure fat that had to be 2 inches long. After I ate the small amount of meat, I brought my tray back to show the staff all of the fat pieces. The woman in charge said, “It’s pork. Pork has fat. I can’t help what I get. What, do you want a refund?” I said no but that I won’t be back. She said, “Well I’m sorry.” I’m done.
