This place is brilliant.My wife and I visited Waikiki/Honolulu last week, and we ate at several high end sushi restaurants while we were there. We spent upwards of several hundred dollars per restaurant. None of them were as good as Local Boy Sushi.The menu here is concise, but everything they make is made very well. A week later I am still day dreaming about the Lava Bowl. If I get the chance to return to Oahu, coming back here for sushi is going to be priority for me.
Took a friend here on Friday. Was raving to him how good it was. Ordered the spicy ahi bowl and spicy ahi pack. The fish was discolored but thought it might be ok because I've never had issues with this place. However, the pieces were hard and not as tasteful as before. Low and behold I sustained food poisoning a few hours later. It is Sunday now and I still have a sore stomach.. very disappointed with this one bad experience. Was served rotten fish unfortunately. I find it hard to believe I would come back here anytime soon or recommend this place. So bummed.
Fresh fish and good value for the poke bowl! Definitely the most value compared to other poke shops on Oahu!

This place had the best poke bowls we tried. We went back multiple times during our stay. Definitely recommend going here.
Very good sushi. Great little dive, we both got the lava shrimp roll and it’s probably the best I have ever had. You order at a little window and they bring your food out.
Came from Waialua to try the bread pudding and haupia desserts.....worth the drive!!!???
I had the deluxe cheeseburger and I was so shocked with how good it was. The best burger for only 4.25. Yes it is small but so full of flavor. My husband got the lava roll and it was super good! I also tried the hand roll maki with shrimp tempura for the first time and it was surprisingly good. The menu is a bit limited but so tasty.
