Kiku-ya has long been one of our family favorites. For Mother's Day, I didn't want my children to cook so I selected the new Kiku-ya Restaurant in Windward Mall, Kaneohe, 96744 to order their bento meals. Big mistake! Many others had the same plan and the Kiku-ya staff couldn't keep up with the orders. We ordered around 5 pm for pick up @ 6:40 pm and the meals made it to our home table around 7:40 pm, cold and missing Kiku-ya's typical presentation. I write this not to disparage Kiku-ya but as a reminder to plan ahead for delays. Food service is suffering with minimal staff and supply chain delays.

Great food, great service and price are reasonable. Staffs are very friendly, fast, and professional.

#5 mahi plate is delicious!and the special w/nabe

I've never left a review this is my 1st. We dined here for along time. I ordered vegetable tempura normally it's cleaned vegetables with a thin crispy batter. The beans had hard strings and the batter tasted like thick pancake batter. I was so disappointed. I threw it away.

I think what I liked most about this place was the customer service. Staff were friendly and nice! The location is excellent with easy parking. The portion of the food was amazing!! Presentation is good as well! Of course it’s not like the real Japanese restaurants in Japan but they were good enough! Price was within the normal range.

As a LONG TIME customer, I felt compelled to share a "not-so-pleasant" experience. The price has always been "reasonable". The menu selection great. The service great. The quality of the food pretty good. However, I requested the grilled ahi as tempura style. (THEY DO HAVE AHI TEMPURA). The owner/cook told the waitress "We DON'T do that!". I was willing to pay a little extra if need be. WHAT IS SO DIFFICLT IN DIPPING THE CUT AHI INTO TEMPURA BATTER AND DEEP FRY IT??? I guess some people DON'T appreciate their customers . They DON'T follow the culinary rule of: "NEVER let your customer leave unhappy, because they will tell 3 people". Guess what? I SURPASSED my quota!!!

Kikuya Kaneohe is the best Japanese restaurant. I have been going there for so many years. The food is the greatest

Enjoyed the sukiyaki here. Came out piping hot which it should so that was good. Pretty good variety of Japanese comfort food. A little pricey but at this point, I'm just glad small businesses are able to stay open. There was one lady working the floor the whole time we were in there but she was amazing and we never found ourselves waiting too long for food or refills of water.

This is honestly one of my favorite spots for Japanese comfort food. Fresh sashimi and great bento style meals. I love their Saba!

This is a long standing Kaneohe favorite with a lot of fish options. The business is a bit run down inside but I believe they will be moving soon. Stay tuned.
