Food was great. Though the price maybe a little high compared to the portion. Not sure if they gave us the right sauce since I can hardly taste the difference between mine and my friend. However the sauce was good, I wished that they gave me a little bit more. Didn't ask for a refill since they charged extra for second sauce. Sides were good. Baked beans and Mac and cheese. Looking at the menu picture, looks like they forgot or ran out of sausage. Since we ain't got any.
Delicious food, wonderful family owned business, and the brothers are so friendly and inviting! A must visit restaurant in Kailua!
Very disappointed. 2 meat choice extremely small portions (two small slabs of brisket and fair size pulled pork) on second two meat order had burnt chicken drum and thigh and two ribs. One mostly bone with little meat and other mostly fat. Sides were “ok” but not overly impressed. Also ordered a to-go pulled pork sandwich which did not come with sauce and bun was severely burnt. I live close by and eat out a lot however will not return. Cost $75 w/ tip
This place is worth your time and money. It is comparable to Texas BBQ--Think Louie Mueller's in Taylor, TX. For the best chance at having all menu items in stock, plan for a Wednesday through Friday visit (meats smoked on Monday and Tuesday). The only thing missing is a peach cobbler with a scoop of vanilla to wash it all down....In order of awesome:1) Brisket; 2) Pork Rib; 3) Pulled Pork. Haven't tried the chicken. Both coffee bourbon and vinegar mustard are great. All sides tried except the rice and they are all great complements to the main deal.
TLDR for tourists like me: Great food and family-owned so please support this business.TLDR for Kamaʻāina: ʻOno grindz that broke da mouth.During a visit with my Kailua buddy, we decided to try this place after several days of plate lunches. On a Sunday evening, we were mildly disappointed that they sold out the brisket. Cory & Tina made up for it by providing samples of their weekend specials, the lamb chops and smoked pastrami. We also ordered ribs, pulled pork and chicken along with the mac & cheese. The food was so good that we ordered an addition plate of ribs and also tried the potato mac and coleslaw.Since we still had a taste for brisket, we returned on Monday afternoon and were not disappointed. Both of us had the ribs & brisket and also shared a very tasty wiskey smoke burger. We pigged out on another plate of pork ribs as well.Didn't realize it back then, but we ate the entire menu including all four bbq sauces! The owners, Cory & Tina, told us that everything is home-made and sourced locally including the firewood. Their two sons are working there so it's truly an ohana business.
A local recommended Whiskey Smoke 808 to us for the brisket tacos and boy were we glad he did. They were absolutely delicious! We also ordered the brisket plate with guava pepper sauce and loved it. The meat is sooo tender and flavorful and the sauce was scrumptious. Mahalo Whiskey Smoke!!
This place was bomb ??? my gosh I haven't had good BBQ in such a long time!! We had a range of things to try tonight!! Brisket was absolutely amazing, juicy and great taste cut just right with the right amount of fat. We also had their pork tacos which was amazing as well!! The Mac _ cheese was really really good, along with their baked beans!! We also had their smoked burger which was by far the best burger I have had on the island and I've been here for a little over 2 months!! Homemade patties with the right amount of seasoning and BBQ sauce...just amazing with grilled onions. The throw a lot of pickeld peppers on the tacos which adds a great taste. Their Pork Belly is amazing too?? I have been back to this places about three times in the last couple weeks. It's my new spot for sure no matter where I'm at in the island if I'm feeling a BBQ that's where I'm going!!! The best part is it's a new business and family ran. I mean the whole fam is cooking smoking and serving!! I love that and it shows in their service and food. They treat you like family there. Love this place love the folks as well. Must must must recommend anywhere on the island but if your in Kailua you have to for sure try this spot out!!!??????
Wow... congrats to the chef. That was some amazing food. Love the outdoor set up. Nice and cool in the shade. I got 2 entree plate pulled pork and brisket... and side of smoked Mac n cheese. Loved it. A bit pricey for family meal but worth it.
We heard good things so of course we had to check it out. I’m gonna be honest. I am such a foodie and it did not meet my expectations. It was pricey for a sandwich that didn’t have a whole lot of meat on it. The garlic fries were undercooked and greasy. The meat did taste good and the sauce was good. The coleslaw had no flavor. $48.00 for 2 people and they don’t sell drinks. You have to go to a separate bar to get a beverage. The outdoor seating section is cool but the going to the bar to get a drink is such a weird concept. There has to be a way for the bar and BBQ business to square up with the drinks they sell. I would have had no problem paying that price had it been a great portion and outstanding food. Just disappointed
Very delicious brisket, best barbecue in Oahu!
