Fantastic food, amazing quality and good service! Will be back! Best sushi and sashimi on island!

Very accommodating to my gluten allergy and made us special rolls tailored to what I could have. Granted they were past their dinner rush but very much appreciated and delicious!

The food is good. Portions are on the smaller side like many traditional Japanese restaurants. What's really hurting their rating is the take out service. They lost our order! This isn't the first time we had to wait a long time for our pick up, this is the second time (out of 3 take out attempts). Until they streamline their take out system and are able to meet the pickup times consistently, I suggest dining in.tl;dr: 66% miss rate on take out pick up times; dine in for a better experience.

Been here 3 times. Every time.. I'm told 20 minutes for takeout but it takes over an hour. Was giving them the benefit of the doubt on tries 2 / 3. Just be honest.

Delicious. A wonderful haven of cuisine from Japan. Tight menu of dishes clearly perfected over time, great staff. And a solid value for the quality served. Highly recommended.

Great food and service. We both got the Nagoya bento plate. One with the teriyaki ribeye and furikake salmon, the other broiled saba with tempura shrimp and vegetables. Looked so good forgot to take pictures. But, able capture one our dessert, tempura ice cream, yum!Oh yea, kudos they’ve got the best waitresses.

My wife and I have been coming to this restaurant for years. The food is some of the best in Kailua whether you do take out or dine in. There is a big issue with take out however, that is the reason for 4 stars.. We have twice now had to wait over an hour and a half (we counted) to get our food. Both times waiting outside the restaurant. If this isn't a problem for you then I would highly recommend however we are very busy individuals and at least need to be warned of the long wait times. They do not care and will not warn you about this, which is unacceptable when you're paying 80$ and up for two!

Usually love this place, for some reason they let me make a reservation for a date and time they weren’t open. Had an entire date planned around going here as it’s my s/o favorite restaurant but unfortunately we were severely let down. Be sure to triple check because confirming via their automated text system is completely incompetent.

This hidden gem is my favorite local restaurant in Hawaii, and one of my favorite Japanese restaurants from New York to California. Very welcoming staff sat our family of 7 as soon as we arrived an hour before closing. Service was fast and fresh. Gyoza was right out of the pan, and my kids agreed it was the best they ever had. Agedashi dofu was excellent with a chef's choice bonus. The steak salad and dragon roll are my top choices. Our Ribeye steak was sizzling on the iron and perfect by our hoity toity Texas standards.

Ordered sushi plate: Ahi sashimi was old; edges were brown, fish was soggy plus I found bone in another piece of fish. Sushi rice was under cooked and hard. No flavor too. Tasted like plain undercooked rice. Service was lacking. Workers stood around talking and our waiter rarely came back to see if we needed anything. Prices are higher which we understood but not worth it. Tokoname used to be a favorite go to place. But, after recent experience, we are sadly no longer going there. You can get much better sashimi/sushi elsewhere.
