Came here on a Monday (TBH, since Over Easy is closed on Mondays) and wanted to give another breakfast place a go. Probably waited between 15-20 minutes to be seated.Pros: Our server was friendly and prompt, the food was served quickly, all food choices were cooked to order, option to dine inside or outside, clean establishment, and some menu items were unique to this restaurant.Cons: portions were smaller than other places when comparing prices per plate, bathroom is located outside the restaurant, protein portions of each dish was skimpy compared to other breakfast places, and the coffee was hot but taste was just okay. This is a popular establishment and I can see why. So, this is just my 2 cents...but my overall experience was mediocre at best.
What a great spot for breakfast! We had a short wait for a table around 8:30 on a Tuesday. Once seated, service was quick and friendly. The red velvet pancakes were fantastic - incredibly fluffy and flavorful. The Hawaiian omelette was also very good. Both dishes were very filling, and the prices were reasonable.Be aware that parking in the adjacent lot and nearby streets requires feeding coin-operated parking meters. There's a laundromat nearby if you need change. ?
Today was their first day back from COVID with full sit down service. They were friendly, had great service and the food was excellent!!
I had the red velvet pancakes and my husband the mac nut cinnamon roll. The pancakes I ordered was the short stack. Wow, that was the small order? I only ate 1/3 of it. There was no way I was throwing it out. I took the rest home. Neither disappointed. When we both say "WOW" with the first bite, it is incredible. The server was so friendly, a bit slow, but she was incredibly busy with lots of tables, many large. The old lady hostess (I never call people old, I say older), Charlene, was the rudest I have experienced. She needs to find another job, not in customer service. I had heard and read this was an incredibly busy restaurant. We did not find this to be the case. Probably because of Charlene, she is enough to turn anyone away.
We made it only as far as the entrance, where we were greeted with a contact tracing form table—prior to making it to the receptionist. The guest in front of us filling out her form stated that the form was to be placed on the table once seated. We refuse to patronize such an establishment—going above and beyond local law—putting society on the slippery slope to tyranny. This measure does nothing to “keep people safe,” and goose steps us ever closer to a social credit system. Don’t comply, or don’t complain when it’s too late to reverse course. We enjoyed our breakfast at Kalapawai Cafe instead without such nonsense.
The staff was great. They had a large variety of choices and the prices were really reasonable. I tried the Hawaiian omelet. We’ll be back.
Eggs benedict is my fave along with the hash browns. Got the pistachio pancakes but would recommend the guava ones ahead of these. Over all delish. Seemed understaffed and had to keep stopping people to get water or sauce. Waitress was very nice.
DO NOT GO HERE WEDNESDAY OR THURSDAY! They are closed for dine-in and only offer take-out and do not advertise that. Really frustrating seeing four different workers sitting and eating inside while we are waiting for an order taker to come to the door to get the long line moving for take out...Gave it a second chance today on a Friday, and it was an alright experience. They are very covid prone and require a vax card and temp you before entering. Mind you the prior day the eating workers had been eating with their gloves on. Food was great, red velvet pancakes were very sweet and delectable. The atomized table cleaners were a mood killer and were sprayed really close to us as we ate. Ordered large drinks and it was the same size as water cups, so I'm not sure what regular drinks would even look like... Overall was meh, would only come back for the red velvet pancakes.
One of our goto places for breakfast when we lived in Kaneohe.Parking can be tough and the waits can be long. But it is so worth it.Massive Portuguese sausage, amazing pancakes. I mean forget about it. This place is 100 percent worth it.
Very nice employees. The wait list was about 30 min.Great breakfast food. I got the Korean omelet and it was good which tasted like a egg roll which I liked. The pancakes are big and fluffy. Bacon was crispy. I split meal and was full. Bring quarters for parking.
