Went to CPK for my husband's birthday. It started out great. There was no line, a bunch of tables were open. Once we were seated the server came right over and acknowledged we were there. So far so good. When he brought our food over we were missing one dish. My daughter's pizza. He let us know that he would bring it out as soon as it was done. In the meantime we were still waiting for our drinks that we ordered the same time as our food. My 2 family members started eating, I waited for my daughter to get her pizza. 30 minutes later she got her pizza with a burnt crust and we had to remind the server that we didn't get our drinks. During our meal no one checked on us. Usually someone will stop by and ask if everything was OK. The manager and server kept brushing past us without a glance. It was hard to enjoy our dining when I had to keep looking to see when the pizza was coming out. I used to be a server and my husband is a cook so we know how hard the food industry is but we felt like we were forgotten. It wasn't a good night. This is sad, we decided to dine in because we had problems with our last take out order and the manager on duty at that time schooled me on what not to order for take out. I took his advice and we decided to dine in this time. We used to get excellent service before, not sure what happened.
Our server was great.. However, we arrived around 5:30pm to celebrate a birthday. We were informed the kitchen was backed up and would be awhile longer until our food was ready but when the food arrived it was room temp, bland and just not acceptable. The table behind us who sat down 30ish minutes after us got there food first before we did.. Not a great experience what so ever.
We had gotten to the restaurant, got seated pretty quickly. The issue was being served. Everyone got what they ordered but one, we informed the waitress only to be told that they ran out of pasta & needed to make more & it would be a wait. So, if we didn’t bring it to her attention we probably would have waited longer. Then we had to go to the bar to ask someone for more water because our waitress kept on talking with other people not paying attention to the others being served by her. This is the second time this has happened and we had a party of six. So much for California Pizza Kitchen!
We sat and never got greeted by our waitress. She has curly dark hair. She said she’d be with us in a minute but proceeded to check on her other tables twice and never came to us. On top of that she kept giving my husband and I dirty looks the entire night. Im not sure what we did to her maybe we came in and sat in her section when she was about to get off the clock or she just plain didn’t like us. She never served us. Instead a nice gentleman came by and served us instead, apologizing for our wait. He gets 5 stars. But whoever she is, I hope you have a better weekend.
Waited nearly 40 minutes. No food, no beer. Three parties seated after us were eating and we still didn't have our beer!! I some to another server and we left. Walked across the driveway to Maui Brewing.
Sat outside. Floor needed sweeping. A used napkin was loose under a nearby table. Server didn't bring bread unlike other tables. Server wanted to upsell on her infrequent visits. Food was good. Popular place. Filled up while I was there. Lots of takeout orders.
Food was great. Our party of 4 had focaccia Brea, Waldorf salad, Thai salad, bbq chicken salad.Our drinks included the fruit flavored ice tea and a mule. They were all delicious and new ice teas kept arriving.We were seated promptly and that is aureus on a busy afternoon.For some reason that strange yellow patio cover outdoors brings to mind a tanning bed or fire tinged sky.Overall great place!
Great service, plates are a little small for the price you pay. I got a Cobb salad and it was delicious, the only problem is they give you a really big plate but the food could fit in a soup bowl.
Great food and outstanding service from our waitress Tawni. Went three times during a two-week stay. Outdoor dining with table service is still rare in Kailua, but CPK makes it work.
The food here is great if you eat in however if you make a take out order be sure to check that they’ve given you your entire order.
