Very nice staff when we visited on Saturday July 25th...they squeezed us in a party of 6 even though they were busy and had had reservations. They were all upbeat, happy and kind. The dishes were fresh, tasty and unique

First of all, I only use this restaurant only one time and can't guarantee that my experience could be your experience. I ordered the lunch special (Lunch Special A) and taken out to eat from my house. When I open the lunch box (togo box), I was kind of disappointed with that visual. There was 10 pieces including one drink and I paid 12$ for this. Probably it is not a bad deal since here is Hawaii. However it still does not give any satisfaction on my lunch. Probably I will try to eat the roll in the restaurant. (The taste of the roll was not bad, and the counter usher was nice). The parking space is limited and you may need to park your car in the public parking lot in front of the farmers market.

I came to Kona for work and got to spend three amazing months here. Shimaichi Sushi Kona is HANDS DOWN my FAVORITE place! Everything is so incredibly fresh and melt in your mouth delicious! ? I come here as often as I can and each time, I'm blown away all over again. The service is impeccable and the sushi is the best you will ever find. It's a small shop, but do not let that dissuade you!!! The food is UNMATCHED in all of Hawaii and you will come back for more, I promise! I've lived and worked all over the country and this is my favorite restaurant of them all. Any trip to Hawaii is enhanced by visiting this restaurant. ?????

Recommended to us by several locals. We went twice, and I suggest not dropping by at high lunch or high dinner, because this place is packed at mealtimes. For good reason. 4pm was the perfect window to sit in the shade, have a cold Kirin and nosh away. Fresh product, friendly staff and beautiful presentation. The volcano tuna was delightful. Very reasonably priced. This place is a gem.

We had the beat experience here. The sushi was very fresh and the rolls were amazing! The chef made us some special rolls that were fantastic. Had some lemon zest on fresh Hamachi! So good
