This was our third day on the Big Island and after a great day of sightseeing, we decided to go to Papa Kona’s for dinner. I had gone there last year when visiting the island and wasn’t disappointed then, so I was hoping for the same this time! I wasn’t disappointed!! My friend and I both ordered the Beef Tips&Fries. It was amazing!!! Cooked exactly how we wanted and the steak tips with mushroom and onions in a red-eye gravy, had great flavor and served in a timely fashion! Our server was awesome! She was somewhat busy but did a great job of checking in with us. Their Mai Tai is quite good as well. Comes in a fun glass as well! I’d highly recommend making this one of your stops when in Kona! It’s also a great place to watch the sunset!

Cocktails were excellent. Went for dinner the first time, good food, great service. Loved being on the waterfront. Went back another day just for cocktails and appetisers. If you like spicy, best appetiser the Fire cracker shrimp.

Stunning location right on the water with views of waves crashing onshore. Fish-n-chips are tasty and so are the blue Hawaiians. Went twice and service wasn't very good 2nd time. The BBQ pork rice ball appetizer is yummy.

This was probably our favorite place to eat dinner, as we returned for our last night. Great service, great food, and beautiful ocean views. The sunsets from the ocean deck were fabulous!

We had a large group and everyone was able to find something they liked. They accommodated vegan / gluten free with some modifications to existing items. A few fun mocktails on the drink list, too. If you like a low sugar mocktail, the lilikoi spritzer with club soda is very flavorful. The food and drinks were delicious, but the service and view were the highlight. We had a group of 8 so we reserved online via open table, but the reservation didn’t show up in the system when we arrived at the restaurant. I recommend calling.

We had a good dinner at this spot last week. The outside dining, right on the water was a nice touch. The service was pretty good and the food is a good value and had good flavor as well. We had fish n chips and the pulled pork sandwich. All of which we'd order again. Parking around there is challenging and pricey if you have to pay for it, which I did.

Great spot by the water to eat. We showed up with a big group and the staff was very accommodating. Food was delicious and the drinks were even better.

Really nothing beats eating good food by the beach, enjoying the sunset and listening to the sound of the waves. We didn't have a reservation and were lucky to be seated relatively quickly. I had the fish and chips - fish was well battered but I could not stop eating those fries! Service was attentive. They have live music. Eating here was worth that view alone.

Usually when you come to a place with spectacular views, more often than not the food is pretty mediocre. We found the view and food to both be pretty good on the night we visited. I had the Ahi and my wife had the Marlin fresh catch. Both were cooked as they should be, rare for the Ahi, Medium for the Marlin. Portions were generous enough that I had a decent portion of Marlin and vegetables leftover for my lunch the next day

Good food: fish and chips, Caesar salad with seared tuna. Good service. Table on terrace with a great view of July 4 fireworks in the bay.
