I went here with my sister the other day and we had a really great experience. The woman at the counter was extremely friendly and had a really warm energy. There was also a young girl working along side her and they were really darling with their matching aprons.Poke was great and I’ll definitely be back. I had the shoyu poke with brown rice and it was perfect. There’s also nice seating outside.
Quick fast poke lunch. You choose what you want and it's tasty. After chasing 3 different places that were meant to be open but were closed, this was the only one open. So just the fact that it was open as stated on Google is already a better service than the competition. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.Thank you
They told us they get their tuna fresh every day and prepare it themselves. They never use frozen fish. Their poke was amazing and I would highly recommend the shoyu poke.Their signature dish is their tuna melt. Two friends got it and agreed it was the best tuna melt they'd ever had. It did take a long time probably because they prepared it fresh from a hunk of raw tuna right after we ordered, so it's probably a good idea to ask before you order if you're in a hurry.
Decent. Little salty, and the spicy California was neither spicy nor typical California flavor. Imitation crab was hard and chewy. Rice was also old. Gets the job done but I’ll hold out for another spot. Great service tho. Thanks!
Best Poke and Seafood shop. Shop was super clean, fresh and organized. We got Nacho Poke, and 4 different variations of poke combo bowls. I'm a Hawaiian poke fan so I love not too saucy poke and they nailed it. Generous Inamona and Ogo flavoring. All the other poke flavorings were dialed in as well. I was impressed to see Ho'io and Ogo as sides. Must stop Poke Shop "Reel Aloha"
It really seems to depend upon who is cooking. My wife went one day with a friend and she could not stop talking about the fish tacos. So she took me there and was very disappointed. She said, "It's like I am eating at a completely different restaurant." I can only speak to my experience, as hers is a bit tainted. We ordered the grilled fish tacos and the ahi cakes. My wife did not like the ahi cakes, eating one bite and telling me the rest were mine. Personally, they were okay but on the dry side. They were fairly thin and that makes cooking a bit trickier. The garlic aioli sauces was great, however the pineapple salsa was a bit sparse and soupy. As for the fish tacos, they were good, however the fish "log" was dry and the coleslaw and avocado was skimpy. The prices were $22 for three fish tacos and $14 for three ahi cakes. For roughly $40 for two entrees, I expected the quality to be better. My wife who was so enthusiastic to take me, will not be coming back.
PA' AKAI is my Go-to Poke Spot in the heart of Kona. Women Owned and empowered! Thank you Faith for great service. She always has a smile..even with a mask ? ?
This is the best poke we had on the island for sure. These folks catch it fresh daily and you can tell - really buttery texture and so delicious. Also, the team is super friendly and helpful. The shoyu ahi poke is my favorite hands down. Def try it if you’re in Kona!
The food was very tasty. That tuna melt was amazing. Lady behind counter was nice. Waited about 20-25 minutes which was a bit too long.
Great place tucked away. Awesome Ahi Tuna mixes and simple selection of canned drinks. Nothing fancy about the place, but you won't be disappointed with options/quality and flavor.
