Brisket, pulled pork and ribs were well executed. My son was very satisfied with his BBQ shrimp bowl and my daughter, a 10yo Mac and cheese connoisseur, said it was among the best she'd had. Mac&cheese tasted fine to me but I lack her refined palette for such distinctions. The macadamia nut slaw was delicious and the cornbread muffins got good reviews from my son.The service when we went was the brusque efficient type of a busy place that's probably understaffed. Not unfriendly though. When we left it seemed to have slowed some and it felt more relaxed.Back area seating was quiet and a pleasant temperature when we went, just before sunset.
Great quality bbq, the brisket was nice and tender and smokey, the pulled pork did not disappoint either. I tried the Carolina bbq sauce that was on point. The low part of the experience was the smokey Mac and cheese. I tasted smoke just no salt. Perhaps it's supposed to be bland to help balance the salt on the other dishes. But all and all I Stand by my 5 star rating for this establishment. I will definitely be back. Plus I don't think there is any worth while competition in kona town. Not yet at least.
Dope food! Pulled pork is flavorful and tender. Brisket is fantastic. Their pasta is also amazing. Thier mac and cheese is pretty good for me but can be a bit plain for others. Baked beans are touch and go.
Nice little place, just off the main tourist area. Has bar seating indoors and tables in the front as well as in the back. Be advised, back area did not have great air movement and got really hot. Ordered the combo BBQ plate and garlic BBQ shrimp. Both the pork and brisket were tasty. Shrimp were cooked well, jumbo in size and flavorful. The Carolina BBQ sauce, smoked mac and cheese and the slaw were very good.
Very impressed!I’ve wanted to eat here ever since I saw them open! They did not disappoint! The food is awesome! The BBQ sauce is incredible! Great outside seating. I was surprised this place was not packed! The smoked Mac & cheese was very good!The cornbread was unbelievably amazing! Love it! I will be back for sure.Negative- really only one! Very happy with the spot. Friendly staff, solid home cooked meal feel. A bit too fatty on the brisket though. Pulled pork was spot on. Loved the Lilikoi Lemonade. Great escape from crowds.
After reading such good reviews we were looking forward to trying out Ohana Q. We had a brisket plate and a combo brisket/pulled pork plate. The brisket in the combo plate was over 3/4 fat. The other brisket plate was lean. The pulled pork was delicious. I wish we had looked at our order before taking it home.
My husband is a driver for Door Dash and raves about how often he picks up here and how amazing it smells, so we had to try it!! It was fantastic. We had a pulled pork sandwich and a bowl of minestrone soup. I am obsessed with this soup now. It was fresh, loaded and delicious. The sandwich was as well. Definitely one our new go to places ?
Ok. I've had smoked meats from all over the place. From California to NJ to Philadelphia to Texas. This place matches up with the best I've had. Fantastic portion sizes. Meat smoked perfectly. Tender flavorful. I have literally nothing negative to say. We did delivery so I can't comment on ambience. I can only comment on food quality. I can't say this more clearly. If you are in Kona, get food from here. If you are disappointed it's because you just don't appreciate smoked meat. I had the brisket pulled pork combo which was absolutely perfect. I literally have nothing negative to say. The meat was cooked perfectly. The flavors were perfect. The beef melted in my moth. The pork was tender moist and flavorful. My wife had the Brisket mac and cheese. I stole some from her. It was amazing. Again NOTHING negative to say. Please check my other reviews, I don't give undeserved five star reviews. This place earned it's fiver star review.
If you want to be able to just eat here once, don’t come. You’ll be waiting for more, had the brisket and my mouth is watering ready for the next meal. Thanks for the wonderful food and lovely experience.
