I really wanted to give it four stars. Compared to the others in Kona it's definitely the best one. A little inconsistent, but the wait is never terrible and the order is usually right.
I’m here first time in big island! From California! Walk to McDonald’s from royal Kona resort for some breakfast! Had to try local Hawaiian breakfast from McDonald’s! 40 years ago when I was a young soldier station in Oahu Schofield barracks! So I’m here for a little vacation with my daughter! I walk in even though it was close, only drive through, I walk, so no drive through for me! I walk in anyway, they told me that it’s only drive through so their close for dine in. So I told one of the ladies that I walk over here from the royal Kona resort n is craving for eggs, Portuguese sausage and spam with rice! N she felt sorry for me n took my order anyway, n allow me to eat in corner so no one can see me eat! My thing is that Hawaiian locals r so kind n loving. Wish I can come here n live! Thank you to this McDonald’s for allowing me the wonderful of kindness of the Hawaiian locals love! I wish back in the states can be as kind as the Hawaiian locals! We only go through the drive thru, the workers are very patient when I order, they let me take my time. The service is fast, friendly and accurate.. I love their French fries, cause some McDonalds over or under cook them.If I have to say something negative, I'd have to share that it's frustrating when their ice cream machine is out of order, it's like that a majority of the time and my Son gets disappointed everytime.
Don't plan to do curbside pick up or go into the store. only the drive thru is available. something that would be difficult as I'm visiting and don't have a car. When you order online they don't tell you till after you place your order you can pick up curbside and then you have to cancel the order.
Bf and I went here today for a mobile order ? Staff is super friendly. We were helped by David and he was super kind. Food was good as usual :)
Was heading for a long drive home late at night, so I needed some caffeine. I got a coffee and one of their cold coffee drinks. I remember somebody saying it was too sweet and didn't have any coffee taste so I had them add an extra shot of coffee. It was really good, and then when I got home I spilled 3/4 of it. Really wish I could have finished it. It was that good!
Tried to get some breakfast here and found that a.) now they don't open until 8:00 A.M. and b.) the drive-thru is still closed for some unknown reason. I'm sure more is expected by the powers-that-be at McDonalds, I'm surprised their franchise hasn't been revoked. From now on it's Wendy's for me.....

I came here to get a snack because the other fast-food I went to was already closed. Turns out to be Free Fry Friday! ? The line was really looong so I did curbside. I've been stuck in their curbside spot because of the line - so I choose a better parking where I can leave freely then walk to the curbside spot and wait. Fries were warm but full and I still ate all of it. It took about 10 minutes for my order to come which is pretty good considering the time and day! Friendly worker.
I was told breakfast ran until 10:30, but breakfast actually stops at 10. I don’t appreciate that.
