Really good brunch place. Came here for sunday brunch and the wait was worth it. The ambiance is very nice and service is decent. The drinks came fast but the food takes a while to come because of busy they are. But the food and drinks were top notch. Come early as after about 9:30am, the place really fills up and wait times can be as long as an hour.
This morning we had brunch and it was an amazing experience! Richard (the owner) was present and talked to every guest who came to eat. The food was amazing and the views of the ocean are unmatched! Totally recommend adding this to your trip while in Kona!
Food was delicious! Unique breakfast, fun lizard guests. They leave you alone if you treat them! The drinks were ok! The food was amazing. The banana bread was tasty but a little dry. Overall I do highly recommend trying this place. There aren’t many options elsewhere.
Lovely location + Lovely Breakfast! Almost next door to the Marriott and overlooking the bay, a perfect spot for breakfast and people-watching .. .. Had to have the TROPICAL HUEVOS RANCHEROS and it was a brilliant take on the classic .. .. Would have never imagined Pineapple is the the perfect addition to huevos .. .. Terrific coffee and terrific service = A brilliant morning!! A MUST-DO FOR ME!!
This place was so fun! Met a guy, lord forgive me, I forgot his name. He was from Georgia, waited on us and make perfect conversation with us. The view of the ocean was amazing. Get here early so there isn't a wait, we got right in, but others had just a small wait. Waffles were so delicious. Had pineapples cooked in with them, and I'm still drooling over them! We had a little visitor at the end and just the all around feel of this place was home and tropical. Anyone visiting Kona needs to give this place a try. I seen a review saying the food was just okay, no. It was amazing, we were checked on multiple times and had nothing but the best experience here. Thank you for such a great experience
We were here the beginning of April 2022. We happened to be talking about the big trunked tree out front and the owner heard us as we were guessing how old it might be. He proceeded not only to give us info about the tree but about his retail establishment so that was good timing on our part.We had delicious Bloody Mary's to start. I had Avocado Toast. I do wish when establishments call it toast that it's toasted; especially with toast that has something on top of it. Other than that though, what a great breakfast it was. The Avocado Toast ingredients were so fresh tasting. We all enjoyed our food. As I told folks on my Facebook page, "yes, it's as good as it looks". Oh, the bacon flavor was outstanding!And, of course, you can't beat that location. What a way to start our vacation. I would definitely go back.
Kalikala is the best place on Ali'i for breakfast. They have live music, a festive atmosphere, a stunning view of the ocean, curious & well groomed servers, and best of alll food that is to die for. I highly recommend the Eggs Benedict or the French Toast. The taste is so decadent one could die happily after the experience. The line for this place may feel exhausting but it's well worth the wait!
Last brunch on the Big Island, and this was a winner! French toast was fluffy, avocado toast fresh, and the macnut waffles with pineapple chunks in it... All slathered with lillikoi syrup (not too sweet, but freshly fruity). As you can see, some friends joined us as we listened to the calming live Hawaiian guitarist tell stories of his childhood and watched the waves in this idyllic spot. Perfect closer to our time on the BEST island, made us feel truly Ohana ??️
Best food on the island hands. The view is amazing. The owner is super friendly. I would go back to the Big Island just for the food.
We went 3 times when we were in Kona, once with our whole family (8) and the other two times just the two of us. Brunch is the BEST here. The staff is great, food amazing and the mimosas are too good!!!
