We were looking for poke and stumbled upon J's fish. Got the ahi poke sampler and kimchi cucumber and so glad I got to try all 5 types of ahi because how could I choose? After trying them I still don't know which is my favorite. Definitely recommend! I'm from Boston where seafood is expensive so I was also impressed with the amount of fish for the price. Will definitely be back before I leave :)
My first visit to J’s and I’m happy to report my experience as being top class!Customer experience was great although the place wasn’t exactly full so it was an easy situation for everyone. Ordering was good, the menu was simple and I was able to get my questions answered in detail.I ordered the breaded Mahi Mahi with white rice and salad. (The side selections came in multiple selections which was nice situation). Packaging also was healthy as the restaurant uses recycled materials.Lastly my fish was done really well, very fresh and a very nice portion— I’ll definitely be making more orders from J’s and would recommend fish lovers to try this excellent family business!!
We were trying to find a seafood restaurant and glad we found this one. My husband ordered the fish tacos and he really enjoyed it! I ordered fish/shrimp basket. The shrimp were huge and fresh! Love the fish too! The young lady who served us, very friendly. Thank you J's Fish and Grill for a wonderful meal!

Unpretentious food at it's best. Delicious and exactly what Kona needs, we'd been looking for a place exactly like this our entire trip. Our $13 entree was vastly superior to $50+ dishes that can be found elsewhere around Kona, and the staff are some of the nicest and friendliest people I've met here so far.
The fish tacos were awesome, the waitress was sweet and friendly. Seriously underrated lunch/dinner spot
We had fish plates, sandwiches and poke. Simple sit down with top rate fish and good service. If there was an option to do 4 1/2 stars I’d go there because Pepsi. Other than that, amazing! Really great to see this place pop up downtown.
Poke sampler was great! I got to try all of their poke flavors for a great price! My kids loved the fish chips, and my hubby loved the ono burger. I will definitely be coming here again- the staff is friendly, the place is clean, abs the prices are fair.
Not gonna lie, feeling very catfished about this place. Pictures looked great and lured us right in… food was mediocre, at best. Fish tacos, more like chicken fish on a flour tortilla. The teriyaki chicken sandwich had chicken that was over cooked and in bits and pieces, sloppily thrown between a bun that was far too over toasted. The only reason we even gave a star was because the wontons, even though they were imitation crab, were on point. Not the best service. By far, not worth the price. Total for two was almost 50$
Wow! First off the staff are so friendly. The fish and chips were delicious the fish was perfectly cooked golden with a delicious panko breading. The calamari was really good too. Because their prices are so good and the food I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu!
