Beware the stir fry “vegetables” and the ONE nasty waitress…. Having been a frequent Big Island visitor, then resident for the past six years, my wife and I have enjoyed this harbor side restaurant and it’s incredible staff for the past 25 years. It had been many, many years since we ordered the stir fry vegetables but My wife anticipated the same lovely offering of broccoli, cauliflower, carrot chunks, onions and peppers that we remembered it fondly from long ago. Imagine our shock with the order came out 95% lettuce and cabbage with a few strands of shredded carrots and a few more peppers. She called our waitress over and the waitress was adamant that that was what it always was, well maybe in her time, My wife explained that it had been many years ago but this was not what was expected and she could not eat this as her entree. The waitress demanded to know she we thought it would be and when suggested broccoli, cauliflower, carrots…. Our waitress said “We don’t have any of those things’, OK. She FINALLY demanded what My wife would like instead and she ordered teriyaki chicken. 40 minutes later another waitress delivered the chicken and the bill. By this time we were both so frustrated that we got a to go box and left. This is NOT the usual experience here, either the food order or the waitress. Just don’t order stir fry unless you want a stir fry salad……
For the price point it's a pretty good spot. Service was quick and friendly. Around the resort our $60 meal would have been near $150 for some of the same things. Definitely recommend checking out!
This place is a family favorite for great, inexpensive meals and an ice cold beer! Nothing fancy but always good and the staff is friendly and accommodating. Will continue going back with friends and family.
What a cool place to eat! I love to eat here and over look the harbor abs check out all the boats! The outside dinning is very nice! The wind feels so good coming off the ocean! The food is very good and the staff if Friendly! I will be back! ??
Pretty views of the harbor but the food was disgusting! Worst burger we’ve ever had in our lives, salad was a pile of lettuce and nothing else, the Ono was hard and overcooked … everything was just awful! Good place for a drink but DO NOT EAT!!
Can't beat the atmosphere here. Love the fried seafood options and burgers. One of our regular spots when on the Big Island.
The restaurant is located in a fun area. Lots to see with the boats and harbor. The food was okay with a pretty big variety of options. The fish and chips was probably the best thing we ordered.
Both my wife and I had fish and chips. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated but had a great table with view of harbor. Service was fast considering the place was packed. Best fish I have had in years! Lots of locals were there after work. Prices were good considering that its in Kona area.
Famous for their ice cold from their freezer thick glass schooners to place your cold beverage of choice. Ice cold beer on tap domestic and local. Very low-key, chill place. I like the stir fry plate and burgers ?.
We were given a gift certificate here, excited to try it we went for sunset to end the day perfectly.The poke nachos were a special and we got those as an appetizer. We should have stopped there. I can’t tell you who our server was but one of them recommended the fresh catch of the day. So I changed my entree order from a burger to a fresh catch sandwich. My boyfriend got the fresh catch entree basket. So we both had the same fish. Tuna.Poke nachos came out fast. We waited forever for the entrees and when they arrived it wascold. Fries looked great but were cold, fish had the slightest bit of warmth to it and was dry.Gross! I’m not one to waste food, I hate wasting food in fact. I could only manage a few bites before I called it quits. My boyfriend was in the same boat. I don’t recommend this place.
