Great place to have get togethers or to just grab a drink
My partner and I wanted to visit this place a few days ago, but put it off until today. The food was great, a bit pricy but that's too be expected due to location. I has a bento box with a shrimp tempura and my partner had vegetarian yakasoba. I paired my dish with a ginger ale and she had a green tea. Other than the price, this place is a must visit if you're looking for a good Japanese restaurant.
We enjoyed this place. It took a little while to get seated, but service was attentive once we were. Has non-sushi Japanese fare, so if you're looking for sushi, this is not your place. Bento box was good. The nabeyaki udon was tasty and hit the spot. The restaurant could use a bit of updating and prices were a little on the higher side, but otherwise we liked this place.
I unfortunately agree with most of the poor reviews. Everything here was hit and miss. No one greeted you or thanked you for patronizing the establishment. The food was also sadly inconsistent. One tries to figure out what cuisine this restaurant served. I assumed it was Japanese but "sweet and sour" and "bulgogi"iems were oddly on the menu. I assume the place is good for drinks and karaoke, not the Japanese Izakaya my family was expecting.
Incredible service! We didn’t know what to order, our waitress suggested the clams and the surf and turf. She was so right! 10,000 stars for this amazing place!!
We ate at Fumi’s three times in the last month and each time we had a great experience. The food is consistently really good. Some of our favorites: The Prime Rib literally melted in my mouth. The baked mussels were excellent, having a cheesy sauce I never had before. Kuai shrimp were fresh and flavorful. The eggplant appetizer was delicious too (my wife didn’t want to share). And of course, the tempura shrimp, which is the main attraction, was very tasty. In addition to great food, the service was also excellent. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and prompt. Great job guys, you earned our 5 Star review!
Really delicious siamin at great prices. If you want a place that has a local clientele, visitor friendliness with a good beer selection you will love this place.
**CLOSING TIME INACCURATE**It looked nice inside but we went 15 mins before closing hoping to order a small to go order and they said they were closed :(. I know it’s close to closing and I usually wouldn’t go so close to closing but there were very few other options open around town. I feel that if they actually stop taking orders at 8:30 then they need to put 8:30 as the closing time on google and Yelp. It’s more considerate to the customer that way.
Always rude when you walk into a restaurant and no one recognizes your presence. On top of that we stood there for 5 minutes while we patiently waited to find out that they were not taking anymore orders.I had to actually ask the lady if they were open before they told us anything.
I have had 4 meals at Fumi's. The cooking is actually good. I am not a fan of Japanese food because they use sugar and soy way too often to suit my taste buds. I like the clams which is steamed in butter (no sugar :). I also love the butter fish when it is available.I especially like the appetizer menu. It allows me to taste several items each time. Photo is simple fried fish of that day-Ono. It was perfectly fried- not overcooked and with just a touch of batter.
