Terrible experience, we ordered Korean Fried Chicken and Chicken Katsu and it was not even hot. Food felt stale and also they messed up the order by giving Onion Rings ( super fried ) instead of Fries. When I approached the host for taking the onion rings away, they gave me side of fries from an upcoming orders plate and swapped the onion rings.I won’t recommend this place for Hawaii vacation at all.
We asked a valet what their favorite place to eat and they told us Zippy's. This place reminds you a bit of Denny's with a bakery. I had a breakfast bento box which had eggs, corned beef hash and portuguese sausage and my wife had a breakfast sandwich. All was good and at an outstanding price. No wonder a locals favorite. We were also told that they don't make Malasadas anymore due to staff shortages.
OMG inly the best fried chicken I everrrrr had ? Crisy on tje outside and oh so juicy on the inside. It's a pity they don't habe locations here on the mainland. They surely would have lines down the street. Everything we bought tasted great and the orange bang wow oh wow we're surely missing out. A local secret and staple. Love the oxtail soup! Service is always friendly and efficient. Restaurant clean. Our service today was PJ. She was fast, energetic and friendly.
We were heading home after a day long excursion and wanted to dine at a casual spot. We remember seeing their commercial on TV the night before and decided to try them - we thought it couldn't be that bad because they invested in a commercial LOL We had the ribeye steak with rice and corn and also the chicken trio with rice and macaroni salad. We were stuffed - couldn't finish our plate! It was also tasty. Our bill was manageable - almost too cheap! We wanted to go back to eat there and try other dishes but ran out of time during our trip. If you have the appetite - try them. They are only in Hawaii but I hear they will be opening up in Vegas (if not already).
Zippy's is just a classic! You can't come to Hawaii and not to try it at one of their locations. Great fried chicken, noodles and local food. Perfect location and easy parking too. Highly recommend!
Liked it a lot, full of locals. Had the Surf Pac, great Beef Teri, fried chicken thighs, excellent, spam, white rice and the best macaroni salad on the island. Chili was meh. Wifey got the Chicken Katsu and I added a spam musubi side.
It’s Zippy’s…it’s the only Zippy’s on Maui. Love it that it’s close to the airport. Because I was starving when I got off the airplane. Teri beef burger, won ton min, and one long john. Hit da spot. If you know Zippy’s, you know Zippy’s.
My kids loves Zippys because of their Korean chicken and fried noodles while my husband loves their oxtail.Me as I don't eat meat ,I love their malasadas esp.the custard one,but that night the said that no more malasadas at night and they only serve it till certain hours like mostly starts like when they open till 5pm if I'm not mistaken because of limited staff.Also their onion rings which is my favorite was not available anymore until idk.lols.Over all kids were happy so I was happy.➡️Ps. Always reserve online as they dont accept phone call reservations and if you walk in it will be a long standing wait..
The quintessential local, homegrown fast food place has really let itself go in recent years. I don't know if it was due to the pandemic but the service while friendly was slow and the food was even worse. We had a lunch and a dinner here and it was pretty much the same. Meh. Sad to say but there are other places and even food trucks that serve local food that deserve your business more.
