Tasty takeout spot located close to the airport which makes it convenient to pick up food if you’re just arriving to Maui or heading to the airport to fly out. They have a little seating area outside where you can enjoy your food but no inside dining area.I tried the mochiko chicken, pork belly and fat chow funn. The mochiko chicken was juicy, crispy and had a sweet flavor. The pork belly was tender but I felt was tad dry and lacking something like maybe a little sauce over the pork, but it wasn’t bad. Also got an order of the fat chow funn, the flavor was good and the noodles were a little different than the rice noodles I’m used to. They were a little thicker and denser, I enjoyed the different texture and smokiness of the noodles. If you stop by I would recommend the mochiko chicken and chow funn. I’ll be stopping here on my way back to the airport and try some other dishes.
This is a takeout restaurant. It's near the airport, so it was perfect after arriving. The menu is small but yummy. We had the pork belly and garlic noodles. The line can be long, and there is no sitting area. We are in the car.
Went for the hype. Definitely worth the wait for takeout. Ordered through their website at 6am for noon pick up. Waited in parking lot for about 10 mins and got a text message that food was ready. Very savory food items and that "animal style" (a special sauce that they add) went well with my pork belly spam and 6-minute egg on rice combo. Teriyaki chicken was sooo good and not too salty. Beef with noodles also on point. If you're in to sandwiches, their fried chicken thigh sandwich is a sure winner (spice optional and really not that spicy if you choose to brave it lol ?️)
LOVED Tin Roof. I’ve watched both seasons of Top Chef that Chef Sheldon was in and was SO excited to come here when we landed in Maui. (Super close to the airport). The food was absolutely delicious, we came here twice this past week we stayed in Lahaina- it was so good we drove back one day. We tried the chop steak, garlic noodles, garlic rice, Mac salad, pork belly and mochiko chicken (hands down our fave). I ended up buying the cookbook and was delightfully surprised that most of the menu and the things we liked were in the cookbook. If we had time before our flight back home we would have gone a third time!
My group went to Tin Roof because several folks read about it in reviews online. Over all every one really liked the food. This place is take out only. I should have checked the bag. When I got back to my hotel, they left out the chocolate desert I ordered. Unfortunately we were too far away to make a trip back to the restaurant.
Stopped here at 3:30PM on our way to Haleakala Summit for sunset. Tried ordering online on the way there but our group couldn't decide fast enough. Luckily, there was hardly anyone in line when we got there. Our group ordered a variety of things. Top items we enjoyed - garlic noodles, spicy chicken sandwich, beet box, and chocolate birthday bibingka. We also got the mochiko chicken, which was a bit dry, and the garlic shrimp, which was over sauced. There is no seating - take out only - so we went to Kanaha Beach Park (7mins drive) to eat. There we sat at picnic tables and ate delicious food while watching kite surfers dance across the water. There was also full bathroom facilities there to wash up and dispose of trash after eating.
Great hawaian food. 1.7 mls from the airport. Plan it either at arrival or at departure. We heard about it during one of our tours and visited it before dropping our rental car
There's a reason their rating is so high! As soon as we parked there was already a lineup building up outside the restaurant. They are not offering seating at the moment. You order food at the door and it is all made to go.The garlic shrimp, pork belly, garlic noodles, and 6 minute egg were delicious and very filling. It also came with veggies and options for white or brown rice. The prices were fair for the amount of food given. May be suitable for 2 meals honestly.Plenty of parking within the plaza and we took our order straight back to the car to eat it. So delicious and local!I'd recommend this place to people visiting the island or even if you already live here and haven't tried :)
Stopped for a quick lunch after we arrived in Maui. Took a minute to figure out what was going on with all the signs and ordering being our first time there. They were clearly busy and doing a great job of turning out orders quickly. Had the spicy poke and was not disappointed. Very tasty. Quick service. Reasonably priced. There are only a couple benches if you are looking to sit and they were, so we sat in the car. Definitely recommend for quick eats near the airport and costco.
Be prepared for a little bit of a line but totally worth it for food from here. Some bench seating outside or can eat in your car. Amazing chicken and sauce, plenty of rice and cabbage, and the soft boil egg added great touch. Also saw the garlic noodles, garlic shrimp, and pork dishes, all of which were met with great reviews from my companions.
