When we go here we’ll usually get the same order (enchiladas, nachos, etc.). Up until our last visit, the food was good and order always correct. Customer service/cashiers in the past were adequate during the transaction. The place is fairly new and clean and provides and promotes hand sanitation to customers which is good since it’s self-serve salsa.On our most recent visit, we ordered the same items with shredded chicken. We were expecting the usual shredded chicken, but noticed on the iPad while paying, it showed “adobo chicken.” I told the cashier that wasn’t what we ordered or wanted and it was then when she informed that they were out of shredded chicken and that it was adobo chicken, but not to worry because it tasted good. I told her that I did know how it tastes and it does taste good, but it wasn’t what we wanted or ordered. Paid for and took the order as is despite our disappointment. The outside of our order looked and tasted great as usual. The adobo chicken was cut in chunks and although was flavorful, was not the shredded chicken we were wanting or ordered. That should’ve been clarified by person who took the order at the time the order was being taken.I’m hoping this was a one time inconsistency in our experience because we do like the food and quite frankly there really are so few places to take out from as it is already in the Kahului or Wailuku area, that we would want to continue going there.
Do not expect to get all your food or a refund for food not given. We ordered take out and ate in our car so our baby could continue sleeping. We ordered online and waited in the parking lot. My husband then went in to get our food. Was was subpar at best. Mine was not good but also not terrible. My husbands tacos were gross. The real problem came when we started looking for the beans we ordered. They never gave them to us. Since we had eaten our whole meal already my husband went in to ask for a refund for the beans that werent recieved. Not a single worker could give us our refund because it "had to be done online". However not a single one, including the manager, could tell us how to request it online and basically said tough luck. Food was a total of 4/10 but service was definitely a 0/10.
We really enjoyed our evening at Maui Tacos. I like their new location across from Target in the new shopping center. There are some tables outside if you want to eat out, or enjoy the air-conditioned inside. We both had some of the appetizers which were delicious, and then a fish taco and a shrimp taco finished off the meal. Everything was so fresh and tasty, and you know they really put their hearts into their product. It’s nice to see that Maui Tacos has done well over the past 30 years and opened up other restaurants across the world. Maui is where it all began.
So I attended an event that was put on by the business. I have been to this Maui tacos before and there food was good but this last time eating there I would have to say that the food has greatly improved. The service was excellent and we also got to meet some of the people behind the scenes. We got to sample some taquitos , chicken burrito and beef tostada, along with the fish taco and the al pastor street tacos. Everything we had was great. We also got to sample the jamaica margaritas which were great and this is from someone who does not really drink. Overall I am glad to see that there food quality and menu have gotten better and our host pepe was incredible. I look forward to my next meal here. It will definitely be sooner than later. As far as Mexican food on Maui I feel like only one other place is better on Maui . Oh and don't forget to try out the awesome salsa bar here. Make sure you guys stop by and try out some great Maui Mexican food. Aloha

Great little spot, friendly helpful staff, very tasty assortment of tacos, enchiladas and such. Big hit are the salsa assortments! BAM ! Stop in if your heading to HD or Lowe's! It's another good reason to cross the island ! Find this place !! By ?
Russel the cook took my order over the phone . He was really rude didn’t sound like he wanted to work there . When I would tell him what I wanted his response was “anything else” (in a total rude tone) . And couldn’t even tell me my total over the phone .He couldn’t tell me because he’s the cook and he’s not at the register. Don’t answer the phone russel if you can’t even help a customer out with the total . SMH.
If I was rating on food alone I would give it a higher number but we couldn’t get past the rude woman at the counter. I know it must be difficult to find people to work right now but she is doing damage to your business. We had the grilled fish tacos and chicken taquitos meals. In January you were required to show your vaccination card to dine in I believe that has since been lifted. Wouldn’t return to this location due to rude staff.
This place is a phenomenal spot for lunch. Pricey, but what in Hawaii isn't. Very good quality food.
Cravings satisfied. If you're wanting this variety definitely go somewhere like this. Don't settle for taco bell.
