Been here awhile ago and seems like the quality and taste of the food has gone way down. I ordered just a teriyaki cheese burger that came with fries. Nothing special. My friend ordered a coke and when it was delivered, you could see through the glass it was 'flat'. Had to wait awhile to request a new one as our waitress was busy. She later advised us that they changed it out.Service and food was okay. I know my next visit to Hawaii I won't have this restaurant as a stopping point.
I'm giving Koho's a 2, because this restaurant was slowly declining, I guess the pandemic really threw folks off the edge here. Taking away my favorite dish: fish and chips to only limited availability on Fri. & Sat. Also I hear portions are smaller and quality has gone down. I'm rating the food this time not our waitress which deserves a 6 for running the bar dining what looked like singlehandedly. I ordered the Ono plate. Which consists of one filet of grilled Ono fish on top of shredded lettuce bed, 2 scoop rice, 1 scoop stale macaroni salad, miracle whip trying to pass off as tartar sauce, and a lemon wedge. The fish was a bit tasteless and a tad bit dry.. tartar sauce sweet and nothing but miracle whip, the Mac salad was stale as if to be sitting out until lunchtime. Now be advised you think mmm Ono plate for 12.+ A waste order the lemon caper creme at least it's a lil worth your buck with veggies and a creme to go with the fish. We finished with a dessert to pass off as a Oreo sundae better known as a Kilauea Snowball. At least they had my LEMONADE this time. The only reason we continue to tolerate these places is where else are we going to go? I mean this is Maui.
One of the BEST long Island ice teas around. The bartender is so kind and sweet. The nachos are delish!
This place is good. The food was tasty, but a bit pricy. Not sure I would return given that there are equally as good places for better value. But the service was awesome and the food was indeed tasty. My wife and I both cleaned our plates.
I expect that a popular establishment will be busy on a Friday, even in the middle of a Pandemic (or at least when pandemic restrictions are starting to lift) but as someone who has been dining in or takeout from Koho's for over 30 years, I was extremely disappointed by the service. I came in to place a takeout order and the hostess refused to assist or direct me. She is new... so I can expect the lack of info but there was no reason to be rude or her need to push me on the side or hurry me along because we weren't dining in. After calling in the order, because we couldn't be assisted, we arrived 35 minutes later (they said it would be ready in 30). The bartender checked on our order and got our bill ready and tried to rectify the situation, but overall, it was a slow night and still people were waiting for their food. I'm disappointed, especially since our bill was about $100 before tip. They need to do better.
Great local fare! The Loco moco is delicious. The service definitely warrants a return trip too. And I was there on a very busy day. I give these guys 5 ?'s. I'll see y'all when I come back in October!
It was a good meal, service was a bit slow. But enjoyed my meal none the less.
Always a good time and friendly staff at Koho’s. Happy hour is great after pauhana, and the fajitas and nachos are always a go to. Carol is the best! ?
Love the food and the local atmosphere. And Loretta is the best and hardest working server ever!!
The server was the only good thing. Both the hostess and the server. Food blah.
