Heard several people say this is the best katsu sandwich they've ever had so I had to try it out immediately and they were all 100% right. The chicken is so juicy and the slaw is so sweet it all comes together perfectly and probably one of the best buns I've had on this whole island
In 2022 still the best japanese food on island. No place can compare to keyakiya. Ive eaten at every single japanese restraunt on maui and no one even comes close to them.
If you're looking for authentic Japanese in the middle of the pond, this is your spot. Best there is on the island, no doubt. There's only one other place in the U.S. that I know of that makes Katsu curry as excellent as this. My only regret was not coming back. It's worth an hour drive across the island. Otherwise, make this your first stop after you land and pick up your rental (assuming you're arriving ~2pm or sooner to have time to get here before they close).
Very nice owner, Great japanese food, lots of variety but probably not the best vegetarian place. It's literally on the side of the road so we pulled up on the shoulder but technically it says no parking. There's a park across the street you can eat in but no crosswalk so you have to just run across 4 lanes of traffic.
Best Japanese I’ve had! Good prices and the people are so nice once you put your mask on! Chicken Yakitori Bento was great!

Best katsu I’ve ever had and trust me..I’ve had a TON of katsu in my life. The couple who runs Keyakiya are the absolute sweetest people. It was so good, we’ve gone 3 times and drove 40 minutes across the island for it each time. PLEASE PLEASE go support them and try Keyakiya- you won’t regret it!
I don't often stop to write reviews these days, but Keyakiya deserves five-star status for the quality of their food. As someone who has lived (and eaten well) in Japan, I can honestly say that this is among the absolute best Japanese cuisine I've been fortunate enough to find on Maui over the past decade! Don't let the food truck's humble exterior fool you -- Yoshie and Yasu-san are infusing some serious love, awareness and *aloha* into their culinary creations...Oh and if you're not sure where to start on the menu, get the Keyakiya Chicken Bentō. ;) おいしいですよ!
Authentic Japanese Ten Don.The tempura batter light and crisp. A very nice variety of vegetables. The sauce so delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked. Miso soup also so very good. Gochisoo sama deshita!
