Really high quality drive through coffee. Be prepared to wait awhile if there's a line of cars. You can order from either side.
I happened to stumble upon this place when I was looking for coffee near Costco right after we landed. It was amazing! The barista made us a special drink that is not on the menu but he said is the most popular one. I can't recall the name, but ask for that if you go here! Just don't miss it, it literally sits in front of the Home Depot parking lot. Akamai will now be a tradition every time we get off the plane in Maui.
This is the best coffee I had in all of Hawaii on our trip and it was the first place we went right off the airplane! How lucky! We got iced lattes with oatmilk and the coffee taste is just so good. I'm kicking myself to not have bought some grounds to take home!
Love this little drive through. Customer service is so good with these guys and the staff is so friendly! Oh and the coffee is amazing!
Had a latte with their signature flavor: coconut, macadamia and honey. Best thing ever! We had a cold brew with the same flavor and it was also the best! Love and recommend this drive-through place!
Personally I always tend to get black coffee or an Americano on my first visit. This ensures I have the chance to enjoy the full flavor of the select coffee/espresso bean the shop features. Akamai in Maui was bold, hot, and strong! The staff, three friendly young women, were fantastic. This shop features a drive thru and a walk up window. While I only left with an Americano and a delicious pull apart cinnamon roll, they offer a chai latte that is made from concentrate using their "secret recipe." I am sure it is fantastic! I had a great visit by the way. Be sure to stop by, support local, and enjoy a hot or cold beverage while enjoying your stay in Maui. To the staff at Akamai Coffee Co., Mahalo!
Very disappointed this local company doesn’t prioritize the health of our local community. ZERO employees wearing masks at any location - was told “our boss doesn’t believe in it”. As a Maui Frontline Healthcare Provider for over 20 years, I’m hurt this company doesn’t have our backs, when we are risking our lives for theirs. Never mind the complete violation of County Emergency Public Health Rules. ??
Really great coffee, not overly roasted, so has a nice fruity flavor. The Americano was one of the best I’ve had on Maui. Oat milk latte was also excellent. Very fast and extremely friendly service too! Highly recommended and worth a detour.

I love Akamai Coffee Company. I tell all my fellow coworkers who fly in to check it out. The atmosphere is great and all their staff are always so nice. It’s the only place I get coffee on Maui. When in Lahaina for vacation, I make the hour drive each way at-least twice on my trips out there. A must try. Sit out on the balcony a d enjoy the views. Also, hang out there on Thursday evenings and enjoy the awesome farmers market that’s just below the coffee shop.
