This place rocks. Late night specials. Solid food
I love going to Yanagis whether it be for lunch or for their late night happy hour. Their food is spot on and I normally like to get their set combination meals. Parking is valet only up to 8pm I believe and then after 8pm is self parking. This is one of my favorite restaurant spots for any special occasion.
Great experience every time! It's my go-to spot for late night dining when I'm in town (For those of you who aren't familiar with Hawaii, on Oahu we refer to the city of Honolulu as town).There's a late night menu with specials. There are also combo plates too, which is a fun way to share and try a variety of dishes/sushi. The most recent time I went, my friend and I got the chef's special of sushi (pictured) and it was delicious and unique.Keep in mind that there might be a wait if you don't have a reservation. But I don't recall ever waiting longer than 20min for a table. There is a dine-in time limit, which I recall is 90min. Considering this, it's best to be ready to order when your server comes by your table.Despite being a popular, busy restaurant, service is attentive. There are cool pictures on the walls so take a moment to look around. I always carry my jacket inside as I find it to be a little cold with the AC.
This restaurant was one of the stand out restaurants I went to on this trip. I really enjoyed their salmon skin salad, the butter fish nitsuke and the butter fish miso yaki.The unagi was a little heavy on the tare for me but it was still good.
We were a party of 9 with no reservations. It was after 9p. Ahead of us was another party of 9. We waited outside. The staff very thoughtful, brought out a stool for me to sit on as I need to use a walker. I don’t have a walker with a seat attached. We finally got the private room that we needed. Once seated, the wait staff wasted no time.. took drink & tea orders then soon after they brought our drinks, came wait staff prepared to take our order. Only 1 negative comment… the pitcher of beer was not very cold but the glasses were chilled. Food was served very quickly. It was around 11:30 by the time we were ready to go. It was great we never felt rushed. Yes go to Yanagi’s. Very happy with the service & food.

Very mediocre and expensive for what it is. The restaurant makes you wear “vaccinated” sticker when inside the restaurant, what a shame for such a segregation.
Excellent place! Heard a lot about it and needed to try it! We ordered the sashimi and sushi combo, oyster dynamite, volcano roll, and gyoza. Fresh fish and well prepared. Highly recommend!!
