All the food was good except the beef tongues. The beef tongues were too solid and hard to take. It's unlike the average beef tongues. However, all the other foods are fantastic!! The fried chicken is one of the best in the U.S.
TLDR: Simple, but great stuff.Nice ramen, not too fancy. On the salty side, but okay IMHO. Great for after hiking bite
I love their vegetarian hiyashi, it’s one of my favorite ramen dishes ever. The mochi ice cream has warm mochi and a molasses syrup, which actually goes together quite well. Super tasty.
Fantastic ramen - just the experience we were looking forward toLast time I tasted this flavor was in Tokyo !!
My type of restaurant find when traveling. Local, small, packed with people, hard working staff and ono-licious ramen. We moved from Hawaii about 10 years ago, but still look for places where the local foods (Hawaiian, Japanese, Chinese, and all of the above combos) are served. The noodles here are fresh and perfect texture. My mother who is 91 yo, from Japan, and makes her own ramen broth gave Wagaya's broth a 5 out of 5. The side dishes are equally as tasty. We loved the gyoza. Go early or be prepared to wait. Service is efficient so the small number of tables turn quickly. Parking lot is also small so you may have to park on King Street.
There were tons of people lining up at the door! I planned to dine in but eventually ordered appetizers and ramen online and took them back to my hotel room. It may not look good in the picture, but the potato mochi and ramen are delicious! The flavor of shoyu, the sweetness of the potato, and the unique taste of seaweed balanced well on the potato mochi. The broth of ramen is deep. The corn tempura became soft when I got back, so that I couldn't comment on the taste of it?
The noodles have a fantastic chew to them and can be customized. The tonkotsu broth was fabulous. I normally don't drink the broth, but couldn't help myself with their complex and satisfying broth. Expect a wait, even putting yourself on their online waiting list, but definitely worth it. For lunch I would suggest 11:30 or 12:45
Ramen noodles are great ?I'd also recommend the mini char sui bowl!Last but not least, the yuzu sorbet and Kona coffee jelly are the best dessert!
The wait was quick and ordering such a breeze! Love the wait staff and My favorite place for ramen!
Small parking lot right at the front. Make reservation cause there are a lot of people trynna dine here.Last call is at 8pm, so heads up for that. The food is delicious. The potato mochi app is a must get! It's a crazy potato form factor. The corn tempura is pretty good but also decently heavy and oily so you could share it across more than 4 people. Daikon salad is solid too. And the fried chicken cartilage is so crispy I'll recommend if you're into that type of food. The ramen is thick and flavorful, and the spicy does add up - not the spiciest you've ever had, but kind of like shin ramen spice... But even the no spice ones are great. The Kona coffee jelly dessert is amazing and so soft and flavored too.Come soon! Service is great. You can open a tab and the food and drinks come so quickly.
