I had the Bo's Big Nachos. Worst nachos I've ever had. They put teriyaki juice from the pork all over so the wonton chips were soggy.I tried to tell the waiter but he was too busy to care.I definitely was not impressed.
The food and service are outstanding.
Holy Cow! What a find in Oahu. You have to come here if you visit, or live here. Boca Roti is a favorite, but everything else was just as amazing.
Uncle Bo’s served one of my most memorable Mother’s Day dinners. Traveling in Hawaii, we wanted local food, not in a crowded restaurant, and different from other celebratory dinners. Uncle Bo’s was perfect, starting with the welcoming atmosphere and friendly service. The Nachos starter was so delicious and generous, that it could have been our dinner for two. Very creatively, ham and smoked pork were layered with mushrooms, other vegetables, and melted cheese, interspersed and atop crispy wantons. The result was bursts of flavor and assorted textures, yet still remaining light. The Ahi Poke, also listed as a starter, was large portion of sublime ahi cubes atop cucumbers, delicate onions, and crunchy cabbage. The special that night was Langoustines, which came whole and accented with a fresh mushroom sauce. Certainly not neat to eat, but worth the challenge, especially with all the extra napkins supplied. The grilled crustaceans were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I could not imagine a better Mother’s Day dinner and am already lobbying for next year.
Small location that you can miss if you blink. Great food but need more staff. It appears one waiter is responsible for all tables and he is very busy. Had the nachos and steak on cheese bread. Also the fried ice cream was to die for. Good and worth every dollar. Parking is cheap cross the street.
Google searched a place to eat while on vacation and this gem popped up. Made the walk from our hotel and so amazed by the food and drinks delivered. Worried when we turned up for our late reservation and no one was there but was full by the time the drinks arrived. Great pork belly and dynamite shrimp and delicious Boca Rota went great with our Hawaiian Iced Teas. Highly recommend trekking away from the tourist strip!
The menu all looked very tasty! We had three items and they were all great! We definitely have to go back as there was so much more to try. The baked Opah is a must!
I love visiting local restaurants when traveling. Uncle Bo's popped up in a search for dinner near Waikiki. From our hotel, which was a few blocks from the beach, we had about a 15 minute walk. Not terrible by any means, and the walk was safe, well lit and there were sidewalks. From the outside, Uncle Bo's doesn't appear to be the nicest of places, but looks can be deceiving. When we walked in to the restaurant, we were surprised to see a lovely establishment. Kind of gave me speakeasy or high end supper club vibes. I made a reservation ahead of time, which is what I always recommend whenever traveling. We were seated right on time. The staff were friendly and attentive. The menu is very diverse, plenty of options. We ordered the Spinach Dip to start and the Chicken Alfredo and Crab Salad for entrees. All of the dishes were excellent. I would say some of the menu items the prices can be quite steep, but we for sure had leftovers that we saved for another meal. They also have quite an extensive drink menu.If you are looking for nice local restaurant with a variety of menu options, add this to your list of Honolulu must tries.

If you enjoy seafood or simply good food Uncle Bo’s is a must stop while in Waikiki. We tried a variety of fish and seafood dishes, all delicious and filling! The service was prompt and friendly. We had dessert as well, which was prepared and presented to perfection. If you don’t eat seafood there is also prime rib and steak dishes to enjoy,
