Great birthday experience. Server was attentive to all tables and patrons. GM/Manager came around to check and see if everything was okay. Alcohol selection was good, food was phenomenal. It was absolutely special. Plates were cleared in a timely manner and courses arrived in a timely manner. 3 course dinner done in 1.5 hours. Got a birthday hat that I’ll be using every year, thank you! We’ll be back again soon!

Nice location and staff was great. For the price, the food was lacking that special touch and the details were missing. Horribly creased table cloth, cheap chairs and fabrics. Food was ok, but not a $55 plate, more like $30-35.

We had a wonderful time! The servers were fabulous and food delicious! Thank you and aloha!

From the world's best Mai Tai to our dinner choices, to the wonderful waiter and his helper, Jasie, the experience was outstanding! Roy's is our all-time favorite restaurant! In addition, it was our anniversary celebration and we received a nice note and a complimentary dessert. Every person who helped us wished us a happy anniversary.

Excellent in all aspects

The food was very good, but the most memorable experience was the friendly and attentive service. From the host to the waiter to the manager who stopped by our table. Top down, the best service staff on the island. We had the Trio and the whole fried snapper. Both dishes were very good and full of flavor. Thank you for making our anniversary dinner wonderful!

We got an excellent table with a great view, as requested. The customer service was top notch - really made us feel special on our anniversary. The edamame arrived as soon as we sat down. The drinks were fantastic. The server made excellent recommendations - our favorite dish of the night ended up being one that he suggested (the miso butterfish). The complimentary dessert was *chef’s kiss*, the perfect end to a satisfying meal. Thank you for helping us celebrate our special occasion!

I live nearby and wanted an outside place both for the view and the health side of it. I’ve gone to Roy’s for many many years. It’s typically a place I can rely on for service and good food. Since my family and I (and my clients) are still very covid conscious, Roy’s Hawai’i Kai is one of the (strangely) fewer outdoor options I’ve found. Food was of course great, though the portions were very small despite ordering the full plates (they offer different sizes). My veggies on the butterfish plate were barely present… no bread, no tablecloth outside but neighboring tables had a tablecloth. I know that all restaurants are having a difficult time hiring and while all staff were pleasant, none seemed to know what they were doing (at least in a place where $50 a plate are being served). Like I said. I live here and have come there for many years. I know that the last two to three years have been rough on all businesses, but for the price, the experience was not worth it. Eat a couple of appetizers, have a drink, watch the sunset but if you want to eat good food with people you have not seen for a bit, consider ordering out from somewhere and eating it a the beach if that floats your boat. Ps. While the staff was not experienced, I do want to tip my hat to them. Staff at restaurants work hard and try hard. Fine dining (which is what I thought the original Roy’s was (or at least used to be) requires staff with good training and knowledge about wine, food, service skills etc. I failed to see this. But kudos to all the staff. I know you tried your best 😉

Nice place and nice staff, but we felt not worth the price. Food was just okay.

Food was not great for the price.
