The best sushi bar in Honolulu
Delicious and so worth it! We did the omakase and the amount was perfect, we were very satiated by the end. Fish quality was superb, would definitely come back again!
Outstandingly Delicious Meal! Our friends brought us here and we had the omakase menu. We had reservations to sit at the bar which was great fun to watch the sushi chefs prepare everything and he explained everything he served us. The experience and every dish was amazing! My wife was a little hesitant as she is not the biggest fan of sushi and she loved all of it. We also had an amazing dessert with homemade vanilla Gelato, fresh berries, and cornflakes (sounds crazy but SO GOOD). This is not a tourist place. Atmosphere and staff were warm and friendly. Highly recommend.

Great staff and atmosphere! Only omakase is available and it was well worth the money! Every serving was packed with flavor and quality ingredients. The chefs were all very welcoming, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. The portions were very generous. This was my first time but it will definitely not be my last!There is valet parking on the side street right in front of the building, the first hour is free and then it is $2 an hour after. My dinner lasted about an hour and a half, so about $4. The actual restaurant is on the third floor, accessible via an elevator or stairs. All of the windows and doors are blacked out, so it is easy to walk right by! Just open one of the doors and you’re there. My first dish was ready almost as soon as I sat down!Great place!
Finally made it to Sushi Maruyama! Thoroughly enjoyed the delicious omakase experience at the sushi counter! Great service from friendly and fun staff! Enjoyed the new and different styles of sushi preparations and new fish we hadn't tried before.

I had the omakase here for 150 per person. The experience was 2 hours long and the courses were quite a filling amount. Sake selection and the service was something notable. I personally feel the sushi were too big and requires multiple bites. Besides that, great place to visit.
One of the best meals we’ve ever had in Honolulu! The place is so authentically Japanese - hard to find in an office building in a nondescript tiny suite on the third floor. So much like Tokyo! Food here is inventive and oh so delicious. You have to put your adventurous hat on, but for foodies, this place is heaven. Try monkfish liver (absolutely delicious), and curry salt on deep fried fish parts. The Wagyu beef sashimi and the tempura were standouts. Portion sizes very generous. The sushi chef is fun and very attentive, very alert to my allergies. Didn’t make me feel bad about it at all. Be prepared to spend a bit ($150 for the omakaze menu), but the experience and food are well worth it. I very highly recommend this gem - but be sure to book in advance!!
