Simply the best omakase we've ever had. Each piece of fish is carefully and beautifully cut and tastes sublime over perfectly seasoned vinegar rice. The decor, bar, and bathroom is very clean and modern. The head chef's skillful and smooth knife cutting techniques was a real treat to see! The staff was attentive and informative of the fish we were being served by using a binder and showing us pictures of the specific fish. While the prices may seem steep, it is totally worth the experience and was a filling meal. And don't hesitate to spend the extra $50 to get the toro (tuna) steak, the best 3 small pieces of fish ever!

Wow this is as good as being in japan. We were lucky to slip in for reservation and even the private room. All the rare fishes from all over the japan nodoguro from Toyama and bafun uni from Hokkaido. Everything was super good. Of course this also came with super rare Japanese sake as well.
Private parking. Every dish was more amazing than the next. Worth the magnificent experience!
Easily best sushi experience I’ve ever had. Attentive and friendly staff. Up close experience with the chef who was meticulous about each dish. Fun and engaging to see each dish being prepared. And very high quality fish. Highly recommend!
The food is truly amazing, the egg custard, nigiri, miso soup and also the dessert! We love each of them. But the service at beginning was truly rude and made us very disappointed. We made reservations 7:30pm , I thought it was not far away from Waikiki, so we walked to find the restaurant, first time for this one, arrived too too early and tired, was thinking to get a place to wait so I checked with the restaurant, generally when I opened the door, the lady was rude and trying to push us out…I explained her our situation, she said please wait outside, we have customers here! I was shocked and told her there is no place to wait outside, too close to street, and asked her for 7:30pm reservation when will be good time to be here? she told me we have customers here, no guarantee time…you need get out…finally we came in 7:45…she actually can do much better to tell us they have very tiny place, there is not waiting place anyway inside…another lady later explained us nicely about it…
It is one of the best sushi place in Honolulu.
If there’s a place better than this I don’t want to know.Everything here is amazing. The food, service, and staff are the best! It’s as authentic as eating in Japan. The head chef has only been here for a year or so. So can’t get more authentic than that. There he is in the picture!Thank you for a great experience!
Hands down the best Omakase experience I've ever had in my life! It checks ALL the boxes. My partner and I have been fortunate enough to have had Omakase in some of the most well renowned places in the world, including Sukiyabashi Jiro Roppongi (owned by Takashi Ono, son of famed sushi chef Jiro Ono). But wow, wow, wow, Sushi Ginza Onodera beats all of them in every aspect. The food quality, all the different textures in each plate, the ornate plates and glassware, the food presentation, the umami flavors, the detailed service, and Chef's cheery personality, all of it is first class. Yes, it is expensive, but we have zero regrets. I've never enjoyed food so much. I smiled with every bite, slowed down to really savor it, laughed and practiced my newly learned Japanese phrases with Chef and his team. Sake was also the best I've ever had. My partner is a big foodie and he was so animated with every bite (see our pics). If you're in Oahu, this is a must once-in-a-lifetime experience. And please, if you're going to spend the money to eat here, put your phone away and just be present with Chef. His knife skills alone are worth the price of dinner. What an epic experience. Highly recommended!!
Food was amazing, Interior was nice and clean, chef and hostess were super friendly and hospitable. For each of the fish served, they presented us pictures with a little background. You can see they put lots of efforts on the details. It was our last night at Oahu and was absolutely awesome to end the Honolulu trip here.I'm a bit surprised they DO NOT take tips, their service was perfect. Five stars! Will definitely come back visit next time ❤
