Forcing Customers to Make DonationsI have been going to Starbucks for over 30 years and I am so disappointed in their new pilot program. I was in the Hawaii Kai area so decided to stop by the Koko Marina Starbucks for a short double expresso. When it was my turn in line I was told by the cashier that I have to pay an additional 50 cents for the cup. I said isn't the price of the cup included in the $4.11 and she said we are doing a pilot program and the money will be going to a nonprofit. I said what if I don't want to pay the 50 cents. She said I would have to bring my own cup. I told her this is wrong. I told her Starbucks should ask everyone if they would like to donate 50 cents or for each cup sold Starbucks can give 50 cents to the nonprofit but to force people to give money is not right at all.
Terrible customer service. They provide services arbitrarily according to their preference not the customer’s. They do not allow using reusable glasses because they want to charge for fresh water, even you have just ordered several bottles of beverages. They do not allow their customers using the restroom and ask you to go outside to use the restroom in Walgreens. Worst service I have ever experienced in Starbucks, would never come again.
