The bar itself is fine - you get a good mix of dive bar locals. Your problems gonna be the c*nt of a bartender. It took 40 minutes to be served and it was only because a local forced her to do it. It felt like she hated everyone in the joint!When she couldn’t figure out how to charge my card, she blamed me and started screaming like a banshee, as though her inability to do her job was somehow my fault.Some decent local had to help me out. Craziness. I was later told that she’s the new owner. After watching 3 seperate groups leave because they weren’t being served, I’d be surprised if the bar is open by September. Definitely go somewhere else

I love this bar!!! I visit every time I am in Honolulu. It’s cheap drinks with real locals and interesting characters. It is a dive bar, so low expectations are a must and part of the ambiance!
Shannon did a great job providing us with the history of the bar and the area. It is sad to hear there is talk of tearing down the place to revitalize the area. This piece of World War II history needs to stay.

Oldest bar !! I wish I knew about Chinatown before my trip started . I live the history here. Jay told us all about how the street used to be called “ battleship row “ The union represents all the guys from “the Arizona “ Don’t go here expecting a mai tai . Cold beer and honestly my vodka tonic was delicious . ! If there’s any old timers in there , take time to strike up a convo . We were rushing but glad we stopped ! Thanks jay for making us feel welcome … and Paige doesn’t make as good of a VT as you ;) we like Arnold though ) thanks for the tip .maybe we will see you next time !
