Recommended by the locals of Hawaii. They are family size portions, which means the dishes are large enough to share between 4-5 people. Our waitress recommended the Chef Colin’s Classic, which includes the restaurants most famous dishes. Since we were a larger party, we ordered the classic and some smaller dishes to accommodate my party. I think the only plates we cleared off were the fried rice, the Yakisoba, the fried chicken, and the salad. The pork chop was good when it first came out. It wasn’t over cooked and dried like some pork chops can be but over time as it got cooler, didn’t taste the same. The kalbi was just ok as well as the teriyaki beef. I thought the teriyaki beef was a little too much on the sweet side. Most of the dishes were either too salty, or too sweet. The balance in taste was never just right. The service was just mediocre. I know it is troublesome serving a large party my size but I felt our waitress lacked motivation and customer service skills. That’s just my opinion though. I mean, we really tried to not bother her as she has other tables to serve. The price for the bill for a party of 10 came up to approximately $350. It’s pricey for food I thought tasted better elsewhere. I would probably visit other places around Hawaii if you are willing to commute.
Family members had eaten at the other Side Street Inn in the past, but it was closed, so we had dinner here. There were 5 of us, and we opted for the family style samplings of several different items. So much food, and so delicious. I'm certain we might have been the only tourists in the place, so definitely a sign that locals appreciate this place. It could be difficult to find, pretty non-descript from the outside. Service was great, prices reasonable. There is also a bar. One of my favorites from our trip.
This is a great recommendation from Ian Aguinaldo. We selected the Chef Colin's Classics, which included their famous fried chicken, salad, edamame, fried rice, and fried pork chops. In addition, we added their delicious fried fish and sizzling beef ribs. The dinner plates are small to eat from but the waiter accommodated us by providing the large serving plates. Parking is limited in this area so we arrived by Uber. This family-style restaurant is always crowded according to my local cousins, but it is deliciously worth it.
This place deserves more than 5 stars ⭐! The customer service is on point, drinks are great and the food is DELICIOUS! My husband and I have been to many restaurants in Waikiki and this is probably my #1 favorite! We visited each time we have been in Hawaii and we will come back next time bringing over more family to try this place. This restaurant offers large portions of food, it's very family-friendly and always full, for a reason. Get there early around 4pm when they open because the place will be packed within an hour.We got yakisoba noodles, with a mushroom dish and fried garlic chicken. Everything tasted excellent!!
We got the prefixe menu and were not disappointed. Definitely a lot of food that feeds more than 4-5 people. We had leftovers with 7 people. Everything was delicious and we can't wait to come back.
Huge portions given at this family style restaurant! Casual restaurant and sport bar atmosphere. The fried rice and garlic chicken are amazing. The pork chop was not our fav. Our server, Robert, is the best! He made you feel welcome like family. Parking is limited in the back.
On 05/02/2022, we decided to eat at Side Street Inn before we head over to the Waikiki Shell for an event. My friend recommended it. The greeter was great and waiting for our seat was fast. I main server was Justin and he did a great job overall taking our orders, drinks and always was there to see how we are. When the food came the assistant server named May was in a rush and while she delivered our Kalbi plate and Korean chicken plate, May didn't see that she dropped a Korean Chicken on my wife's Manuheali'i blouse. I had to call her back because she just plopped the dinner down and walked quickly back to the kitchen. When May came back to apologies, she really didn't care what she did. So we called for a Manager and Lindsay came to see. We explained to Lindsay what has happened. I explained to Linsday, maybe you should teach your server to be a little more considerate to customers and don't be in a rush like May did. Lindsay did offer a dessert for what happened. That was nice but to stain a designer blouse is uncalled for. We will definitely be sharing this with people we know, because there is other restaurant we can choose. The 3 stars is for Justin the servicer and the food.
We had dinner at this restaurant a few times in the past few months. Food is delicious and consistent? We love its signature fried rice with Chinese sausage, house salad, Kalbi bone in, pork chops, fried chicken and to die for dessert peanut butter crunch!
Excellent food. Enormous portions, so come prepared to share. Had the fried race and pork chop. They were both excellent. The pork chop was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. People around us got the garlic chicken and short ribs and they looked and smelled delicious. It’s a loud and gregarious atmosphere with friendly servers.
We ate here for dinner. Our family friend suggest the pork chops and fried rice. Their serving was huge and would be great to share with the whole family. Got to take some back to our hotel. The pork chops was so good I think I’m going to try to replicate this back home, I’m lucky if I can ! Hahaha
