After stopping in for a late lunch, I now want to try one of everything on the menu! This mochiko chicken plate did not disappoint, and the garlic ahi (not pictured) was out of this world. Prices are very fair and the shop has fun vintage items you can shop.
Very nice little place right on the sidewalk that has some of the best Cajun fries I've ever had. I wish they could do something about the people blocking the bus stop but that's probably not anything they can do besides telling the customers that they can't serve them if they are blocking the bus stop.
Excellent food and atmosphere! Got the garlic ahi steak and it was top notch. Extra bonus was the entire time there i was there they had some deep cuts of an entire Led Zeppelin mix going on.... which we all know is 'god's gift to rock and roll'
I always liked to walk in Hawaii, but there were many good restaurants on the way to Diamond Head, so it was good to have a simple meal. It's a great place to experience simple Hawaiian home-style dishes.
We enjoyed this food so much, we came back the next day! Honolulu has few restaurants compared to Mainland cities. We felt lucky to find the Pioneer Saloon.
This place was incredible. We got the suggestion from our Lyft driver when we asked for affordable ideas near our hotel. The weather was great while we were there so we decided to walk there from our hotel. It was about a 30 25 minute walk and we were rewarded with amazing food. I ordered the deep fried baby tako with spicy mayo and shiso rice. The portions were great and I believe the total was around ~$15-16 so not bad for Hawaii. We went later in the afternoon and there was no one in line. We waited about 10 minutes for our food to come out and it came out piping out! The oysters were crispy and would have been fine on their own but I liked dipping it in the spicy mayo. I wish we would have gone again while we were there but unfortunately didn't make it out. Definitely recommend if you're in the area!
Such a cool little place to eat with a ton of menu options. After some time walking through the zoo, we came here and got some great eats! Service is good and the prices are fair. Only downfall is parking can be a challenge around here, and despite what Google maps say, they are takeout only currently, with very limited outdoor seating. Still, it’s worth it. Grab some food, head down to the park and enjoy in some shade!
Ordered take-out and enjoyed their extensive menu. $11-18 for a large and delicious meal. I would definitely eat there again!
waited in line with the locals. shop opened and started taking orders around 11:20. big portions. got the beef bowl and loco moco. needs more gravy/sauce on the loco moco plate; otherwise, good!
I asked a Lyft driver for recommendations for food in Waikiki and was directed to the Pioneer Saloon. Oh my goodness. It was the best meal I've had with no alcohol since I've been in town. Now that I think about it it was probably better than the dinners I've had with booze too but the memory is a little fuzzy. Pioneer Saloon has no dinner in options right now. All the of us were amazed (not TikTok amazed where everything is a 11/10) but actual amazed with the quality of the food for the price.Teriyaki chicken plate $11Ribeye steak bowl $16The ribeye were cooked a perfect medium rare and then cut into bite sized pieces and placed over rice, with a salad and potato salad.
