I went for the soup dumplings. I would give them 3.5 stars. Give this place a try. Nice atmosphere. Tables set up for family style.

A great Chinese spot! We had wanton soup, steamed buns, shrimp with lobster sauce and spicy Mongolian beef! No wait and very reasonable prices. Roughly $70 total for all that! The owner was also very friendly!

Great place, food, and service! Reminds me of the best Chinese dishes in Austin, only they’re available in the same restaurant. Peking duck is worth the try. Hope to come back in a future trip

The service and food was excellent. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the dog barking and walking around the dining room. Would recommend for take out.

Don't understand why this place was so empty for a 1:30 lunch. Really good dim sum, especially the soup dumplings at two steamer-fulls for the price of one. Also had egg foo yong but had to work to get the chef to understand we wanted pork in it - finally said char siu and then we had it. Lovely people in a nice place. Even had a full bar and the resident dog for added character. Don't miss this place.

I can’t speak to their regular menu, but here’s what happened when we ordered off of their vegan menu, which they created for the Vegetarian Society. If you are planning to order off that menu, please read this first! We called in late Tuesday evening for pickup on Thursday, because they didn’t answer their phones all evening. When my husband arrived, it was a fiasco. The woman running the front did not have a record of my order, although my husband recognized her voice as the one who took our order. She said she could get it ready fast, so just reorder. So he did. And then he waited an hour while he witnessed many other orders going out, and a hired helper who seemed lost and not of sound mind, who had to be told to answer the phone and had extreme difficulty taking orders. We ordered $65 worth of dim sum, and the entire order tasted like oil. The worst was a tie between the “siu mai” which was actually bits of crumbled and oily tofu bits with some mushrooms in an oily wrapper, no seasoning, just oil, and some salt, and the seaweed rolls, which were sopped in oil and the noodles inside were uncooked in parts and again, all I could taste was oil with a little salt. I could go on, but I’ll attach a few pictures instead.Needless to say, I don’t think they have ANY experience in vegetarian cooking, nor did they have a remotely Chinese flavor. Not planning to return.

The one star is generous. Okay, responded to Vegetarian Society of Hawaii's ad saying " Salt and Pepper", this restaurants new name, is offering vegan menu starting today. I had a restaurant before in Chinatown, I get it. We made the papers, and we were not ready for big traffic increase. I think S and P's challenge goes a bit deeper, however, I wish them good luck and Aloha.

Hmm best soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) we’ve found on island! We also got Peking duck, panfried green beans, egg rolls, fried rice, and sweet and sour soup that were all well- seasoned, super tasty, and not too oily. At first glance we underestimated this place but it’s definitely a hidden gem! We will definitely come back again! The hostess was also super friendly.

Absolutely horrible. There was a dog begging us for food the entire time. The soy sauce was so expired it came out like molasses. I ordered a cup of soup and the server brought an entire bowl and charged me $15 for it. The dumplings tasted and felt like they came out of a freezer box. One of the cooks took a nap right behind our table. Very expensive for terrible service. The waiter had no clue what was on the menu.

The Peking Duck was simply wonderful. And the service by Lisa was impeccable and she made us feel right at home.We never experienced the buns before but they melt right in your mouth.Come here you are guaranteed to leave with a contented stomach amd smile on your face
