I came to Peace Cafe on a whim for my last meal in Hawaii before hopping on a plane back to the mainland United States, and wow...I truly could not have asked for a better final meal on the island! Peace Cafe offered some of the best vegan comfort food I've ever had, drawing from Korean, Japanese, Moroccan, Mexican, and American cuisines to provide uniquely delicious dishes at a really reasonable price. While the takeout-only operations took away a bit of the experience, I was honestly just so grateful that Peace Cafe was still open during the pandemic and that I was able to try out their amazing dishes!I opted for their katsu plate with tempeh, and it was absolutely incredible -- the breading on the katsu was delightfully crispy, and the tempeh was remarkably flavorful. The katsu sauce was also amazing -- it had the most delightful curry flavor, and I honestly wish that I could just buy a giant bottle of this and put it on everything I eat. Between the black and brown rice and massive tempeh cutlet, the plate was incredibly filling, so I was really grateful for the little side salad and mixed greens to lighten up the meal. My friend tried out their katsu plate with tofu, so I had the opportunity to do a little side-by-side comparison of the tofu and tempeh -- both are absolutely delightful, but I, personally, thought that the texture of the tempeh paired a bit better with the rest of the plate. The tofu was softer and a bit more watery, but if you aren't the biggest fan of tempeh (or are just looking for something with a softer consistency), the tofu is a really solid choice.One of my other friends tried out their heart and Seoul, and also loved their vegan take on traditional Korean flavors. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything on their menu, and I can't wait to find my way to Hawaii again to try out some of their other dishes!
Pretty good! BBQ Tempeh sandwich was huge and BBQ sauce was nice and tangy. Peace Sampler was okay, felt like it was missing something though, I think it needed bigger pieces of things if that makes sense. The biggest piece of tofu was smaller than a quarter, and everything else was chopped really small.
The food was delicious and the staff was absolutely amazing! A super cozy and friendly café that's worth to stop by for a meal or even a drink.We ordered food to dine in and every meal we tried was incredible. The yuzu lemonades are refreshing and the meals are filling but not too heavy so perfect before a day full of activities in Waikiki or it's surroundings! The matcha was to die for!Overall we would definitely recommend!
Very delicious vegan food. Portions are generous, you won’t feel hungry after your meal. We got the Katsu don which was nice and crispy and the peace plate. They have a lot of dishes to chose from, sandwiches and desserts too. Staff is super friendly. You cannot sit inside to eat. They have an outside bench.
This place is so great! Super cute inside, very friendly people, substantial menu, great ingredients, tasty dessert loaves! I recommend this place for sure!
My favorite food that I enjoyed so far in Waikiki. Great sandwiches for lunch or breakfast. We ordered 3 sandwiches, they were wrapped very nice (no plastic), great ingredients and mix of flavors. I enjoyed the Italian sandwich, tonkatzu one, and also the one with peanut sauce. The sandwiches are really big and the bread was so fresh that even next day everything tasted fresh. Really Really delicious!!! Awesome delivery too!!! I wish I'd order some desserts. Impossible to take good pictures because I dived right in ?

So good!! I got the tofu Poké and it was delicious and filling. So grateful for such an amazing all vegan food place with so many wonderful options!! It was pretty busy when we were there, right at lunch time, but we still got our meals in a pretty reasonable 15 minutes. Thank you for a great lunch and an all vegan menu ❤️
The bread they use for sandwiches is awesome. I loved the Italiano. I also loved the katsu and the salad and rice. My family still talks about the pineapple smoothies we love this place and miss it on the mainland. Staff was super friendly when we were in town as well
The staff gave us a warm welcome. When I first stepped in, I was overwhelmed with colourful options on the menu but the lady was very helpful in offering recommendations based on what I normally enjoy.I ordered the super green smoothie, these desert squares (which were yummy), and Loco Moco meal. Home made meals with generous portions!My meal overall was good, however I found the mushroom brown sauce too salty and abit too much of it for my personal liking. In the future I will simply ask for it on the side and add as desired.Don’t be put off by the exterior of the building (which is in need of refreshing to reflect the brand better) but once you are inside the service and food is decent.Local hand made Jewlery also on offer.
