we’ve been to maui and oahu on our vacation and this was the BEST restaurant we went to. It was so delicious, fresh, and beautifully plated food. I literally can’t believe how good this was. I was sad when I stopped eating. Im still sitting at the table looking at the pictures of my food, sad that it’s gone… writing this review.
Cozy Korean dining in Honolulu's Chinatown. Seating is limited so you may need to be patient but your patience will be rewarded. We had the bibimbap with spicy chicken, the Korean chicken, the kalbi beef, and the lasagna. The bibimbap was fresh and bright with tender spicy chicken and savory mushrooms, tender greens, and crunchy bean sprouts. Fried to perfect, the Korean chicken is sweet and spicy with potato croquettes and red rice. Melt-in-your-mouth tender and savory is the best way to describe the kalbi beef and it came with fried pumpkin and potatoes with rice. Finally, the lasagna was filled with kalbi beef and cheese - it was definitely good but a little heavy and could have benefitted from some greens to add volume and freshness. We sat on the cute back patio and it was a nice relaxed and delicious lunch.
This place is legit. Well priced and healthy. The kimchee is so good and we’ll balanced that I am worried I won’t have to look further.
My wife is Korean so we aways have to try new places. Besides her giving this place a big thumbs up, they put something together for me that would be gluten free. Normally I get something not worth mentioning, but this time was fantastic. I think the little lanai in the back is part of the restaurant too, and on a nice day that seemed a good spot to hang out.
The gochujang chicken was great and the purple rice was superb. I really enjoyed the fried brussel sprouts with the sweet gochujang sauce. I think they have seasonal menus? I came for the pork belly but ended up getting gochujang chicken. No regrets!
Great vibes in the back seating, and really solid food. The pork belly was our favorite thing. Lava cake with raspberry ice cream was also delicious. No complaints at all and the food was tasty. Just reserve 5 stars for places that leave us dying to go back or recommending to all our friends, and this wasn’t quite that.
We ordered for pickup and the food was done on time and super fresh. Their packaging was thoughtful and it was easy to eat in our car with our baby (pandemic parent life). I had the salmon and it was so tender, flakey and generously portioned, the Korean remoulade and panko topping was delicious. My husband got the Kalbi bibimbap and loved it. The meat was perfectly cooked and it had a great medley of veggies. We also treated ourselves to the strawberry mojito and it paired so well with the food, refreshing and fizzy too. Kimchi was also great!
delicious and affordable. Staff were friendly and attentive.
I had the kalbi bibimbap and it’s definitely not traditional. It’s fusion. They used what seemed like a tenderloin cut instead of short ribs or the usual cuts for more traditional kalbi. The flavoring of the meat wasn’t even similar, though I did enjoy my meal. I wouldn’t describe it as mind blowing. It satisfied my Korean cravings. The house made kimchi is run of the mill. The iced coffee was good. Service was friendly and attentive.
This place was awesome and unique! If you love Korean food then this is your spot!
