I’ve been coming here since the 80’s it’s the best. Every time you need a food gift this is the best. Always consistent and delicious. Also, you can grab extra each time for yourself.

Little off the wall place. Place is kinda hidden in commercial looking place. It was recommended by my cousin and it was good choice. Chi Chi Dango was really good.

While the name is a bit misleading, and finding the store takes some patience, you will be highly rewarded with delicious and pillowy mochi - it was amazing to find a mochi store in US like what you can find in Japan! I had forgotten that mochi didn't have to be chewy! We paid $10 for a box of their standard mochi and $1.50 for filled mochis. We bought a box of each, and devoured the filled ones on our flight back to SFO.

Anyone who visits Oahu MUST visit Nisshodo for their mochi! It is so soft, pillowy, melts in your mouth, and is absolutely delicious. I can't choose a favorite, but the melona mochi was so freaking good! The lady working there was also very friendly. Every time I go, I am tasked with bringing some for my friend back in Canada lol. It is such a hidden gem!

Best mochi by far in Honolulu!!! I live in Las Vegas and we don't have good mochi like Nisshodo so anyone who visits has to bring us back some mochi! Recommend to anyone who love mochi or wants to experience mochi best place to get it!

While the parking can be a bit tight, had to go around the building and park around the corner, once you get there and step into the store- you are transported to another world ... a world full of soft, pillowy, flavorful , colorful rows of mochi and manju! So many choices- anko, peanut butter , lima bean, and more. And of course boxes and boxes full of their famous chichi dango. What a great treat for family, neighbors, coworkers, your favorite postman, hair stylist, etc. Can't go wrong with a trip to Nisshodo!!

I was at this place back in August of 21 and forgot to write about what a great experience I had. They have some great Mochi and other tasty items. You gotta support the small businesses and this one's definitely is worth it!

Fresh mochi, any flavor is delicious. I'd recommend selecting a variety, you can't really choose a bad one here.

haha so I kept telling my cousins about this place & they were like oh, candy's not really our thing. but when they found out it was a mochi spot, how the tables have turned.this place is hidden in a warehouse - like other yelpers have stated, "LOOK FOR THE GIANT RED RADIO TOWER". this place is also next to a Home Depot + Costco!we waited outside as there were two other people inside the store. it's incredibly small and they get very busy. I called ahead at 7 AM when they first opened so I could get my 3lbs of chi chi dango for my friends and family. my daughter and I ended up picking some mochi while we were there. got one lilikoi which my daughter ate. I had one bite & was surprised she could eat such a sour mochi with no problem. it was good if you're into sour! two melona + two lychee. my favorite by far was the lychee! melona was a nice sweet mochi that would go well with tea IMO. we requested for 6 pieces of chi chi dango unwrapped which they can do as well! our 3 boxes of chi chi dango were all wrapped.the ladies up front were professional & sweet. they are a bit slow, but I can't blame them. they're making sure they are being gentle with your goods + not swinging it at you. the lady who rang us up even walked out of the counter to hand us our bag of goodies. highly recommend you stop by & try their treats!

Homemade Japanese Mochi in various flavors.
