Delicious vegan lunch spot, grabbed our dogs and ate a few blocks away at a park.
The MukiDogs used to be really good…. Don’t get me wrong, they still are tasty when they aren’t burnt and if one has a microwave available to reheat it… but most people want it fresh and right away…. Not have to hunt for a microwave. There seems to be a new guy manning the cart. Not the owner, and not Mike Woods (he was really customer service oriented, and really good at it, but heard he moved to the mainland). The new guy seems preoccupied and today had lots of pre made, already-grilled MukiDogs sitting in a bin waiting for customers. And, he serves those cold or lukewarm MukiDogs and those are not so tasty. Mike would have a few dogs in the warmer but always saw some cooking on the grill. Always. And he would serve us fresh ones from the grill. Those were delicious! Grilling in advance just doesn’t speak of wanting to provide a great customer experience. Customers like fresh food, not old food sitting around waiting for a customer...Today, I also noticed that the grill was quite “well used” and looked like it needed a good cleaning.. I’m thinking that the burnt stuff that have been on the muki dogs recently may be burnt stuff from the grill sticking to the new muki dog and then gets tossed into the bin. What would make the muki dog great again is for the new guy to try and enjoy the experience of making MukiDogs and interacting with the customer. He hasn’t recognized his regular customers from multiple visits. Aside from being freshly grilled, the aroma of cooking hotdogs would draw people to the cart. This was not the case today as all of the dogs were in the bin.Hoping to see improvements and bring the service and quality back to where it was a few months ago..
Hold the f$&! up!!! Am I on Earth?!! Not once have I had this amazing hybrid of ingredients. And not even that. I approached the young lad and talked story for a short time and found out he was the son. I ordered the “works” and continued to 711 for a beer and when I returned it was waiting for me!! Super impressed! Keep on my guys. Mahalo
Muki Dogs has an iconic feel of the food carts you find in NYC!Friendly owner and happy customers waiting for their orders, happy to tell you what their favorites are!Now the menu, super easy and probably the simplest to choose from! There's only 2 items on the list and its:"The Works" - Beyond Sausage, Relish, Sriracha Mayo, Ketchup, Mustard, and Spanish Crumble! But we Opted for the "Miso Kake",- Beyond Sausage, Pickled Scallion, Sriracha Mayo, Miso Paste, and Furikake Crumble.AND we were impressed with the flavors that were partnered with a Beyond Sausage to create a unique blend of delicious flavors that danced in your mouth. For being such meat lovers, we sure enjoyed our Vegan Hot Dog! You simply can't go wrong with a lighter and healthier version of the OG hot dog!Price was reasonable and if ever in the mood for a quick tasty bite we would come back if in the area!
It was amazingly tasty! I can't believe it's made of plant-based hot dog.
I got the Miso Kake and it was fantastic. Can’t believe this was plant based meat, couldn’t tell the difference!
I drive by this vegan hot dog stand all the time. I had no idea how delicious this experience was going to be! Flavor bursting dogs, I can't wait to go back!
Absolutely delicious! A true hidden treasure on Oahu!!! Micheal is an amazing chef!
We absolutely LOVE Muki dogs, always good vibes and great service ?? ?? it's hard to stay away
Good vegan hot dogs in a quaint location. They have two types of hot dogs and will say the miso kake is the more unique/must try one as the works definitely feels more like a traditional dog.You should get both to decide for yourself ;)
