Merrimanâs was EXCELLENT!!! Extremely well priced for both the quality and quantity of food. The setting is gorgeous. The staff is extremely polite. Not to mention, service was very quick and efficient. They celebrated our honeymoon with us!

Merriman's food has been consistently very good and the service is outstanding. Waiting staff is excellent. Nice outdoors space when the live music (much too loud) is not on. The one growing downside of this fine dining place is that the food portions keep shrinking to a ridiculously small size while the prices keep going up. What's going on? Why is Merriman's so stingy? If the portions stay tiny, I think I'll reluctantly look for another fine dining restaurant in Kaka'ako.
Many delicious options ~ difficult to choose! Splendid custom cocktails too. Indoor and outdoor dining ~ both comfortable.
Everything we had was delicious, from the lobster bisque (which they split for us) to our fish entrees (outstanding mac-nut-crusted mahi and seared ahi) to flourless chocolate cake dessert. Service was great too. The only slight negative was the music in the outside dining area. Restaurants must think live music is a plus, but I find it invasive. When I go out to eat, I like to have a conversation with fellow diners, and live music makes it harder to hear what people across the table from you are saying. I have to admit the musician playing while we were eating was very good and pretty unobtrusive, but it still added a layer of noise that made it a little harder to hear.
