The udon has a chewy and stretchy texture and blends perfectly with the kake broth. The shrimp and calamari are lightly battered and still have that crunchy bite. Would definitely come back again
Second visit here1. More quiet than the one located near by Waikiki Beach.2. If you visit here when not much of people in the restaurant, please ask a cook to re-fry tempura that you want. Only hot or warm tempura I could find was tongs. Potato Croquette, Calamari, Shrimp are the best.3. Clean and fast4. Recommend
Oh they have the amazing udon ? and loved their food. We did take out and enjoyed the food in our room. We ordered vegan udon and chicken katsu curry and we loved both the items. The curry was very tasty too.
Photo looks great flavor taste very original one thing is whoever makes my noodles bowl he does not have very well eastern Asian food knowledge since I’m ordering sweet beef LARGE size he puts good amount of beef and juice I appreciate it but he didn’t put enough noodle sauce. So this cause the whole bowl was very salty and taste too strong on soy sauce ..
Best udon ever. Hands down. We came back to Oahu and went back here immediately. Worth the wait for sure. Staff is great too, considering they’re working in an extremely fast pace environment!
Much less crowded than the one in Waikiki. One of the few places in Honolulu that offers udon with a decent portion in roughly 10 dollars. Soup base is flavorful and pleasant, udon is good quality. Highly recommend.
Good taste, large portions, low price and fast service. If I lived in HNL I'd probably be a regular customer.
Been here several times to eat in pre-pandemic and took out surfing the pandemic. Food is good and consistent. Service is good but was super busy during the weekdays pre-pandemic of course. I would not get the teriyaki chicken udon as it is basically udon noodles with no broth topped with teriyaki chicken so it winds up being a very dry meal. Teriyaki was also somewhat salty that day. Beef and standard udons are good especially with shrimp and other tempura. Will be back again but not for while due to location being in downtown which has little parking.
Waited in line for about 40 minutes to see what the hype about this place was. As the staff was very hardworking and sweet we were not impressed by the udons and tempura we ordered. The curry one was strange and the tempuras were way too fried. The noodles hands down are the best udon noodles we had ever tried. We saw a medium size roach next to the trays and immediately called someone over to kill it. The place looked clean not sure why we saw a roach.
Comfort food for me. I always lean toward the curry or niku udon. This time I went with the curry and it’s still as good as I remember it. Add some tempura or croquette on the side and dip it in the curry.
