A little gem of a place off Smith Street with the best ribs I have ever had…thick, juicy, delicately flavored…just exquisite! The serving was so huge I gave some of it to my friend and by the time I remembered to take a photo, I had eaten half of it. The ribs special didn’t come with rice or noodles, but the side order was great. The staff was fantastic: friendly, helpful, the best I have seen in any 5-Star Restaurant. It is in a seedy part of town, so beware of some of the street people, but well worth the trip! Highly Recommended! Garry R. Lee, MD

My family loved everything we ordered. My husband got the bbq ribs, the special for the night. The meat fell off the bone they were so tender. The portions were very generous. Super friendly staff and quick service. I would highly recommend.

Went here after reading on several sites that it was among the top Oahu Chinatown restaurants. It was mid afternoon and empty. Staff was courteous. Food however was very average. Ordered house seafood noodles. Noodles were nice and crisp but sauce was salty and had a slightly fishy smell (fresh seafood does not smell fishy). Szechuan chicken and broccoli beef were also salty. These are pretty conventional dishes so should have been easy. All in all disappointing for the price.

My family group of 14 went to Little Village after walking around Chinatown. We got there when it opened for an early dinner. The staff was extremely friendly, explained the menu options well and I could tell they really wanted us to have a great experience. We did, it was fantastic, the food was amazing and we loved everything. Thank you from Tallahassee, Florida.

I had dinner at Little Village at least 20 years ago. The food was authentic and so very good. Fast forward to last night with family, the menu was limited to specialty dishes. We ordered so much and we were not disappointed. The past two years has taken quite a toll on businesses. While Little Village has less space, the food still has the big taste I remember!

Not horrible but certainly not a place I would seek out in the future. Go to your nearest Zippy's for a more enlightened bowl of noodles.

Great Chinese restaurant with an amazing interior decoration. The vibe is awesome. Delicious food that is among the best Chinese food I've had in Hawaii, a good mix of traditional dishes and modern/Americanized takes. Service is ok.

The food was okay, but diners beware: this establishment will nickel and dime you to death. I had the duck noodle soup, my husband had honey walnut shrimp, we got pot stickers, the folded buns to-go (which are under the poultry section but DONT COME WITH A PROTEIN), two sodas, and a side brown rice (that was charged separately without our knowledge of it being an extra charge) and the total with a $10 tip was $77. I called when we got home that our buns had no duck, even though on the receipt it said Peking duck buns, and they said it doesn't come with any meat. If you want passable food at a high price with every little thing being an extra cost, this is the place for you!

Dumplings were the star of the show! Slurp on the noodles was amazing as well.

On a recent trip to Waikiki, we decided to leave the hustle and bustle, high dining prices, and drive to Chinatown to look for some food there. Oddly, lots of restaurants in Chinatown, but very few casual sit down places that feature Chinese staples - unless I was in the wrong place? After parking in a public lot and circling the block a few times scoping pizza, Japanese and upscale Asian fusion places, we found the Village Noodle House and despite the unfortunate Yelp mediocre reviews, decided to give it a try. It's a nice, small-medium and comfortable place that's causal and perfect for just about anyone. Was only about 1/4 full on a weekday at 7pm. At first we were expecting...noodle dishes, but were pleasantly surprised that they comprised only a portion of the menu. Menu featured maybe 20-30 dishes, perhaps less than most Chinese places, but an excellent and diverse selection. We had crispy spring rolls, pork potstickers to start. Both were very flavorful and fresh - off to a great start! For mains, we had house special fried rice, orange chicken, Mongolian beef, Singapore noodles and crispy noodles. I have to say, was the absolute best Chinese food we ever had - even beat Chinatown in SF. Fried rice was loaded with duck, shrimp and other goodies. Orange chicken had so much rind and flavor too it. Mongolian beef had a wonderful char flavor without being overly soy sauced; very simple with just onion. The dishes had light sauces with nothing being thick, soggy or goopy whatsoever. The Singapore noodles had a nice spice/curry flavor with lots of fresh veggies and perfectly cooked noodles. Crispy noodles were fun, cooking in an intense broth with lots of chicken. We loved the simple, but diverse menu, with everything being well prepared and again, SO FLAVORFUL. Service was pleasant and fast, prices were very reasonable compared to Waikiki and the portions were large - we ended up with an entire second meal for 4. Just remember to BYOB, as they do not serve alcohol; we will for next time. Highly recommended Little Village Noodle House.
