The line is worth it. Use the time to decide what pastries and coffee you’re going to get. Every pastry we got was delicious and we tried 8! From the croissant to the Kouign Amman. Worth every minute. I ordered an iced honey oat latte as well and was pleasantly surprised. After we ordered we received the pastries right away and then the coffee very quickly after.
Five stars for service! Ryan and Kelly were helpful and friendly. Ryan recommend the black sesame Kouign Amman and the passion fruit pastry. If you have a sweet tooth then you’ll love the kouign amman. It’s crunchy crispy with black sesame paste in the center. Coffee was good but if you want the true coffee experience then go to coffee tasting counter on the side of the store where Kelly makes great recommendations. Always a long line but after 1pm it’s a very short or no line. Will be back again
Overall: Definitely go here. Is it the best coffee around? Probably not. The espresso was slightly over-extracted and their were visible grounds in the cup upon completion. The cold-brew, however, was well-made. It was bright with a medium body. My partner grabbed an iced vanilla latte which was just sweet enough! The real star of the show, however, are their pastries. Specifically the Kouign Amann. We tried the original Kouign Amann, the seasonal (strawberry) and the black sesame. All three were amazing. Hands down the best pastry I’ve had in a very long time. They were flaky and soft with a sweet and buttery nectar in the center. You need to have one. We also tried the cheese & ham croissant. It was mediocre and not worth the price ($7.50).Additionally, everything here was expensive: Espresso was $4.50 for a double shot - add $1 for the 100% Kona coffee espresso blend); iced coffee was $5.50 for the 12 oz; the latte was roughly $6; and the pastries were easily $5 and up.Moreover, the staff was super helpful. I had a lovely employee help me choose some whole bean coffee to bring back home. I did not get her name but she was very kind and patient with me while she generously let me sample their coffees. You should definitely go here. It’s worth the wait.
You have to try this place! The coffee is so good and the bakery is so tasty, not sweet not greedy. But really tasteful with many choices. Pineapple croissant is definitely a must try! Very Hawaiian special
I’ve never had an affogato for breakfast, but glad I got it. It’s a nice alternative to an iced coffee + sweet cream.
This is the spot to get your fresh morning pastries but only if your able to waitThey open at 7 am. Got here right at 7 & there were at least 50 people in line. I finally got in & ordered at 7:43 am. It was a long wait but worth it for some fresh baked pastries. I got several items.A tart flan slice $6Chocolate Banana Almond Croissant $6Pineapple Coconut Almond Croissant $6Black Sesame Kouign Amann $7*Seasonal Flavor* Kouign Amannwhich was a Strawberry Liliko $7Five Stars for the pastries. Everything was so crunchy flaky fresh. Definitely worth the wait. Got to try it at least once. I've had the coffee before but I come for the pastries
Line up is long, but worth the wait if you plan on getting more items than just for your own consumption. My wife and I got an assortment of pastries to share with family. To me, the pastries were better than the coffee. They were excellent even when compared to great bakeries back on the mainland. I've had good Kona coffee before and the coffee here isn't significantly better or worse, so don't bother unless you get pastries. Don't get me wrong; the coffee is excellent. Not sure if a single cup of coffee is worth the line up. But if you do just a cup of coffee, here's a pro tip: line up here and also order online for the noodle place across the street at the same time. Once you're done here, go across the street and pick up your order where all the delivery guys pick up. You'll avoid 2 line ups, get a great Kona coffee, and you'll get a delicious take out lunch.
It's a really long wait. I got there before 7 and still waited around 45 minutes just to get some pasties. They were all really delicious! But not sure it was worth the price or the wait. The banana chocolate croissant, blueberry muffin and the flan tart were my favourite.
Pastries are the absolute stars here. I did really enjoy the honey latte - not too sweet and kept a good coffee flavor through the milk. Highlights for me was the lilikao Bostock- not something I’ve ever tried but blew me away. Like French toast’s distant cousin - that chew had me. Seasonal and black sesame kouign amann and their panna cotta were also fabulous. Would pass on Apple tarts (good, but not as special as other items)
A long line but worth the wait! Good Kona coffee and fine pastries.
